For instance, a new study by researchers at the University of Virginia shows that intelligence is as a result of nature and nurture.

According to the study, children that read stories with their parents at night, for instance, have better intelligence. The study compared cognitive ability, which is measured by IQ, of 436 Swedish brothers. One brother was raised by the biological parents while the other was adopted. The IQs of the brothers was measured from the age 18 to 20 years. The study established that the IQs of the adopted brothers were 4.4 points higher than those of their siblings. That’s because the adopted children were raised by wealthy and educated parents who exposed them to reading and writing among other activities that improve IQ.
