6 Ways to Improve Your Business Marketing

Whether your business is just launching or has been around for 10 years, there are always changes and improvements that can be made to your business marketing plan.  The most successful marketing is multifaceted and ever evolving.  Here are the 6 ways you can improve your business marketing and improve your chances for future success.

Social Media

Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Snap Chat and Instagram can catapult your business marketing if done correctly.  With social media’s help, your business can reach more customers and obtain new customers.  In this day in age it is imperative that a company has a strong social media plan. Make sure you utilize the platforms that your customer base engages in the most. Try to post new and relevant items at least three times a week to reach the most consumers on a consistent basis.

Referral Programs

Customer reviews are powerful. Think about it, how many times have you looked up a google review on a restaurant you were about to try or visited TripAdvisor when planning a vacation.  Many people polled today say that they would be much more likely to use a product or service based on positive reviews from real people than any other form of advertising.  Therefore, it is key to have a referral system in place.  The great news is that a great referral program doesn’t cost anything- and if it is successful, you will increase your closing ration and make larger sales.

In-Person Networking

While we live in a digital age, there is still nothing more powerful than talking in person.  Networking is an important part of business marketing.  Reach out to your local media and Chamber of Commerce to build relationships and gain visibility for your company.  Just like how a gambling strategy can improve a player’s odds, the same is true for business marketing. The more networking you plan to do, the more contacts you will gain. Attend trade shows, conferences or other relevant events to help develop alliances and stay current on the latest in your industry.

Personalization

Dale Carnegie once said that “a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”  Even more, studies have shown that 56 percent of consumers said receiving something personalized would improve the chance of them purchasing a brand.  Try adding personal touches to your own business. Whether it be through email marketing, monogramming inventory or mailers or a hand written thank you.

Customer Engagement

In the social world of today, the more shareable you make your marketing, the more powerful it will be.  Be creative and think of ways to bring customers to your site or in your store.  There are many opportunities such as asking customers to share themselves using or wearing your merchandise or eating your food that will increase your social reach without spending a cent.  It may also help to use a prize element to entice more people to post or share!

Survey

The best way to improve upon your marketing is to ask your customers for their feedback.  It can also give you insight to what makes your clients tick.  Create a simple survey to find out what you are doing right and what else you could potentially offer.   Increase your response rate by giving an incentive such as drawing a winner to receive a free item or gift card.
