Game Mode — The New Gaming Experience

Since December, the rumor mills have been spinning about the possible release of Game Mode with Windows 10. This update is said to enhance the gaming experience of the users. However, the advantages of this feature were not clear until now.

The Head of Platform Engineering Xbox, Mike Ybarra, recently gave some information about Game Mode—a Creators update by Microsoft. This mode is said to optimize the performance of the PC when the game is running.

Mike Ybarra said, “The Creators update will feature a new update called Game Mode. Our vision is for Game Mode to optimize the Windows 10 PC for better performance in gaming.” Also, some of the new features of this mode would soon be available for Windows Insider soon. The feature will be fully operational with the Windows 10 build releasing through the year.

The Xbox Head has promised that the PC games will see a massive improvement with the Game Mode update and it will be introduced to the users in spring with the Creators update.

Possible Features:

If the rumors are to be believed, then Game Mode will enable Windows 10 for regulating the CPU and GPU resources. This will give more power to the allocated game and the apps running in the background.

Once the update is live with Creators update, it will allow the PC to act as a Home console where the resources will be diverted from processes that are non-gaming to gaming.

Microsoft Beam

The Microsoft Beam is a simple and quick way to allow users to stream gameplay. The Beam will apparently be connected to the Live Xbox account of the user, which would make it easier for users to stream their games to Beam and Xbox Live Community. Viewers globally will be able to see this stream and live chat with the broadcaster. Gamers do not need any additional software for using this feature.

Beam Broadcast

So, how does one broadcast with the beam? It’s simple, the players need to press the Windows + G for their Windows 10 PC, which will open the game bar option. Next, the player will have to click on the broadcast button to start streaming. For Xbox One users, simply press one button and start the streaming from the Guide.

The feature will be soon available for the players with the new update of Xbox One, which will make things easier and quicker for players. Once the update is live, Xbox One users will simply have to press a button the Xbox console and the Guide will appear on the left side of the screen.

With these exciting features, users have been eagerly awaiting the Windows 10 update, which is slated for release in spring 2017.

Players get set for the Game Mode launch.
