6 Important Features Your Community App Should Have

Communication plays a big role in today’s most popular online games. Multiplayer online battle arenas like League of Legends and First-Person Shooters like Overwatch and CS:GO requires a certain level of coordination to be successful, something that like-minded players are more likely to have than a bunch of random players in a pickup group.

This is why millions of gamers resort to mobile community apps in their search for the right teammates. Unfortunately, there are so many similar apps that can make it difficult to tell a good app from dozens of bad ones. If you’re a gamer and you’re looking for a good group communication app, you need to look for one with the following features.

Group and Private Messaging

When looking for a group communication app, go for one with both group and private messaging features. Major announcements concerning all members of your community can be sent via group chat while reaching out to certain members via a private messaging system is still possible. Bigger guilds or communities should also look for an app that allows users to create smaller chat channels for a select few members. This is useful for making small parties.

Gamer Identity Management

A good mobile community app designed for gamers lets you create profiles without having to compromise sensitive information. Go for apps that do not require the use of your real identity. Better yet, get something that can be linked to your online gaming profile.

Polling System

In some cases, members of the group may want to ask others about their consensus on certain things. This could be anything like asking the member’s ages or deciding which time most people are available for a dungeon raid. A community app with a proper polling system not only makes queries easier to respond to, but also to interpret once the results are in. This is because the poll module itself works out the results and percentages.

Calendar

Getting people in the group to agree on dates is one thing, but keeping track of key group activities such as dungeon raids and other planned events can be just as difficult, especially for larger groups. This is why you should look for a community app that helps remind the entire group of the next big activity thru an interactive calendar.

Member/Admin Privileges

Any group requires some semblance of authority, especially if that group is composed of several dozen gamers. To make sure the group is inconsistent and avoid rare instances when an unruly member messes with the members list or posts unauthorized announcements, look for a mobile community app that allows you to restrict admin access only to those that can be fully trusted by the group.

Photo and Video Sharing

Photos and videos can be used not only to inspire other members of the group in the form of montages but also as guides designed to help newcomers familiarize themselves with the game. However, recording a game may require extra time and effort. This is why a great mobile community app comes with photo and video sharing features that allow users to record their games and share it in just a few easy clicks.

While there are many other great features found in plenty of communication apps for gamers, these four stand out as the features to prioritize. With the right tools, managing and participating in an entire group with your community app is easy.
