Here is the Process that Expert Developers Use While Developing Their Own Mobile App

You have an idea for a mobile app, but you don’t know any developers.

Wait!

Let me rephrase, you don’t know any Expert Developers.

Almost all Entrepreneurs have been in this dilemma. They often get challenged to find talent, expertise, and loyalty to hire dedicated developers for their project.

Now, of course, you’ll bump into a couple of developers if you decide to take a walk in your neighborhood. But that’s not what you want. You don’t need only coders, what you need is the developers with expertise. Developers who know what it takes to develop an app from the scratch. Developers who know the process of developing a successful app.

However, an important question to ask yourself here is: How can you determine whether the developer is an expert or not?

Are there any tips for it? Maybe a guide to identify expert developers?

Well, not really.

There isn’t any specific guide or tips, but there is another way to find out whether the developer is an expert or not.

The process which expert developers follow for building their own mobile apps. And by knowing this process yourself, you can identify whether the developer is an expert or not.

Do you want to know how expert developers build their own app?

Below is the process which we observed that the industry’s well-known expert developers follow for developing their own mobile apps.

#1 Understanding The Idea

What is the concept?

What problem will it solve?

Is there any app in the market solving the same problem?

If so, how can it be made simpler for users?

These questions instantly pop up in the head of expert developers once they come across any app development idea.

And these questions help them understand whether the idea is valid or not. And if it is valid, then comes the planning.

#2 Planning

This is where rookie developers make mistake. They start developing without laying out a proper plan first. And this is where all goes wrong.

After understanding the idea, it’s important to detail your product onto a document first. Include all the features envisioned, and the flow of how app users will navigate the app onto that document.

When jotting the ideas on paper, try to be as detailed as possible. Also, look closely at features to identify the non-core features and remove them. Offer only the core value features in the first version. Do not add the features that are ‘Nice to Have’ as they can always be added later.

#3 Choosing the Right Platform

Your target audience is the biggest factor while choosing a platform. Find out where most of your potential users are spent most of their time, identify what they’re seeking, and build your app around those requirements.

Depending on these users and their requirements, they also have certain expectations from an app like which app will satisfy their needs, which is easy-to-use, and other relevant factors. Point is, figure all these out before you pick your platform.

#4 Building a Prototype

The basic idea behind prototyping is to build a preliminary model based on the known requirements. Prototyping before building an app can get you an actual feel of the app, and the interaction with that prototype helps to better understand the requirements of the desired app.

Expert developers always and always work on the prototype first. This ultimately helps them to firm up how the final solution will function and look with an estimate of what needs to be done for developing their own mobile app.

#5 Getting Feedbacks From Locals

Once the prototype has been built, expert developers share it with their inner circle including friends, colleagues, and industry seniors to determine whether their app idea does what it’s supposed to do, and fits well for the desired purpose or not.

This gives a better understanding of what’s missing, what’s unnecessary, and what potential feature requirements of the app. And after receiving these feedbacks, move to the next step.

#6 Developing Minimal Viable Product

Check this famous example of Spotify. How they make the MVP for every stage.

The feedbacks from locals play a huge role while developing a minimal viable product. It narrows down the least amount of features to include for the testing the product with your users.

Expert developers first implement the MVP, study its use by the users, note down all necessary corrections, and repeat if necessary. It benefits developers a great deal as it saves time and money on both, design and development costs.

#7 Learning From User Reviews

Once the expert developer has necessary feedbacks from the MVP, next step is to learn from those feedbacks. What consumers are saying, what is still missing, what do they seek, what did you actually delivered.

Understanding answers to above questions is what will make your app successful if implemented right. It simply explains the path you need to follow to make the app used by most of your potential users.

#8 Building The Final Product

Here comes the important part. It’s where an expert developer needs to give full attention to each and every small detail. The audience has already high expectations, and to fulfill it, the final product needs to be just perfect!

How?

Start by noting down the most important features from feedbacks. It shows what the audience is expectation most out of the product, which is what going to make your product popular.

#9 Promotion

Your app is in the market. But is it reaching to all of your targeted audience?

Expert developers do find whether the app has been discovered by target audience or not. And based on that, they plan for the promotion of the product.

It’s no secret that for any product or app to be successful in the market, it first needs to reach its audience. It is what going to decide whether you delivered the right product for a problem or not.

The expert developers make sure of this. The app promotion, in the right direction. And it plays an important role. What’s the point of developing most efficient and problem-solving app, if nobody has even heard of it?

Final Thoughts…

The above steps are not sacrosanct, but take it as a guideline for building an app in the best effective manner for the target audience. However, it may seem like a difficult process, but once you begin, you’ll know that it’s the right way to develop an app. And it is what followed by the expert developers.

Great Post Yuvraj! Nicely crafted article indeed. Every freelance developer or an application development company has it’s own methodology to carry out a project. Names can be different from these points you mention. Importantly, there is no ideal situation and theory to deliver a world class application.
