How to Unlock Your Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge

A survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2014 shows that 64% of adults from the US now own a smartphone, 61% of this total number being male. They also took a look at what brands dominate the market and discovered that from 2009 to 2013, BlackBerry’s share of the smartphone market plummeted from 50% to 3%.

Android devices are the undeniable ruler now, and they’re here to stay.

As you probably know, most of these devices enter the market locked in a certain network. This works to your advantage, apparently, since it makes them cheaper. But it also limits your options when it comes to choosing a plan, not paying huge phone bills when you travel and selling your device at a reasonable price.

So, what are your benefits for unlocking your phone?

  1. Choose the cell phone plan that best suits you again and again, without having to worry that you can’t change carriers.
  2. Be free of paying insane phone bills because of roaming charges every time you travel. Instead, use local SIMs to reduce costs.
  3. Make more money when you sell your phone. When you’re ready to switch to a newer model, you can sell the previous one at a higher price because the new owner will also be able to use it with any SIM from any carrier, in any country in the world.

How do you unlock your phone, you ask?

You have 3 options that will elevate you to the privileged status of having an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge:

  1. Ask your current carrier to unlock it. They’re obligated to do so, they just don’t advertise this option. You will probably have to wait for your contract to expire, though.
  2. Go to the nearest phone repair shop. They have hardware that can unlock your phone. The only problem is that there’s a risk it will damage your phone, and you’ll have to leave it with them for a while.
  3. Use an online unlocking platform, like Unlockunit.com or UnlockScope.com. They can help you buy the unique unlock code that was attributed to your phone in the factory. All you have to do is copy and paste it on your phone and voila! You’re the proud owner of an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.

How can you unlock you Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge by code, now?

First of all, let me tell you a little industry insight. Delivery time from the provider has dropped dramatically for this model, so you can unlock your phone in 1 to 6 hours tops. And UnlockUnit has a discount running for the Samsung Galaxy S6 for a limited time.

#1 Go to UnlockUnit.com and fill in a few details in the form: the brand and model of your phone, the country and network you bought it from, you IMEI (which you can find out by calling *#06# or going to Settings > More > About device > Status) and your email address, because that’s where you’ll receive your code.

#2 Choose the delivery time and its respective price from 3 options, then your prefered method of payment: credit card, PayPal, Skrill, Moneybookers or Bitcoin. Cool, right?

#3 Receive the unlock code by email, insert a SIM card from a different network provider in your phone and you’ll be asked to “Enter Unlock Code” or “Sim Network Unlock Pin”. Enter the unlock code you received by email, and the message “Network Unlock Successful” will be displayed.

If your phone does not ask for the unlock code and it only says “Network Locked” then, as if making a call, dial: #7465625*638*#. And revert to step 3. Alternatively, you can use the UnlockScope app to go through all these steps. Download it now from Play Store.
