Where to Buy Refurbished Smartphones

Buying the latest and greatest smartphones is expensive. Keeping up with technology is expensive too.  However, there is a cost-cutting method that is growing in popularity year-on-year. That is, purchasing refurbished smartphones at a much cheaper price than their retail value.

What is a refurbished mobile phone?

Refurbished phones are those that have been sent back by consumers for being faulty, or simply sold on by their previous owners.  They will have been checked, repaired and in full working order before they are re-sold.

They often come with a warranty but may not come with their original packaging or accessories.  All this information can be collected before you make your purchase.

When a phone is refurbished by a retailer or pawnbroker it will be given a grade.  This can vary from one company to another as they are set independently.

Sometimes there are few very minor signs of wear, others may have scratches and light cosmetic damage whilst the worst you can find will show signs of wear, look used and may even contain cracks.

Where can I get a refurbished phone?

Buying from a trader ensures you get maximum protection as a trader buys goods with the intention of selling them on.  So look for a registered business seller on their profile – high street brands include Cash Generator, Cash Converters etc.

If you’re buying a refurbished handset it’s a good idea to make sure that it works with your sim.  So buying one that is either on your network already or factory-unlocked is ideal.  Alternatively, you can pay for the provider to unlock the phone.

What phones can I get refurbished?

Whatever the manufacturer has to sell.  With people these days wanting to upgrade their phones as soon as the latest model is released, you can often find some of the latest phones and great value available.
