Blackberry Z30 – The Greener Pastures?

People watched it rise to heights, craved it, longed it and eventually even owned it for it symbolized a class of its own, mostly the pride of the business class. And then they were those difficult times, when one has its fall and so did it. Naturally enough, as though a part of a written tale, people were no longer charmed and moved on to greener pastures, to Nokia, to Samsung, to Sony and HTC.

BlackBerry-Z30But the sad truth about greener pastures, it always looks greener on the other side. And just so as to live it, the Blackberry hopes to have made its comeback, hitting the market with a striking Blackberry Z30.

Built and Design

The Blackberry Z30 has a sleek, rectangular body with rounded edges though comes only in black as of yet. It of the dimensions 140.7 x— 72 x 9.4 mm or 5.54 x— 2.83 x 0.37 measured in inches, weighing a 170 g. A notable feature is the non-removable battery which has a capacity of 2880 mAh and life up to 25 hours.

Display

A genuine attempt to please the customers is clearly divulged by the display features which are inclusive of a 5 inch, super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 16 M colours and a resolution of 720 x— 1280 pixels with multi-touch enabled.

Hardware

If a customer may not have been pleased so much as to buy, they may be pleased enough to reconsider as such is the hardware. With a 1.7 GHz, dual core, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor the Blackberry Z30 is forged to operate fast. It also gloats of a 16 GB internal memory, 2 GB RAM, with expandable microSD storage up to 64 GB.

Software

Now the really picky customer would be particularly keen about every minor details and hence the software which is powered by the Blackberry 10.2 OS. It is also Java enabled and supports has html5 as the default web browser supportive of flash.

Camera & Connectivity

Now, these are the features that one can guarantee every individual thinks twice of before a sober purchase – Yes the camera of course and the connectivity second. But the Blackberry z30 has nothing to fear for earning a good rating in these for it comes with a 8 MP primary camera of 3264 and 2448 pixels, sporting auto-focus and LED Flash enhancements. It also has the features of geo-tagging, face detection, image and video stabilization.

Complimentary to the primary is the secondary camera of 2 MP.

Speaking of connectivity, the Blackberry Z30 is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0.

Hence, one can almost say that the phone is a complete one and sure has the potential to steal back the lost limelight. But all these features come at price of 560 Euros, a whopping 560 Euros where one can find equally spectacular or even more impressive features among the brands of Nokia with its Nokia Lumia 1020, the Samsung with its Galaxy S4 and the HTC with its HTC butterfly, all at nearly equal or comparatively less price.

And to note, the sole trademark of Blackberry, that is, its BBM is now a cross-platform feature, yet another reason for people not to remain Blackberry specific. But despite all the dark clouds, it has a silver lining which is its once upon a time glorious brand name and business class sophistication, which shall always be a fascination.

In my opinion, if one is not business purpose specific or a Blackberry stalwart, one could always opt for other brand phones such as the Nokia Lumia which is a promising series or the Galaxy Series for equally good quality and features at lower prices.

    Nice article
I think the biggest problem of Blackberry is they still use their own software, now users are familiar with android or iOs and if Blackberry devices can’t catch the trend, it’s really hard to be back their throne again.
    thanks for your sharing.

The biggest problem with blackberry and nokia lumia and other non android mobile platforms is that peoples are not praising for their innovation, I can say that if some software complications would be critically compared between android and other platform, these platform will be far more better than android.
but I must say Android’s biggest power is google Play store, which has ultimate collection of application. that is why peoples are choosing Android.
