How to Pick the Best Game for the Whole Family

Video games can be a great deal of fun. The whole family can sit back and enjoy some cool games together, but then again everyone has their own favorite genre of games. Some people like action games whereas others prefer less violent stuff like puzzle games or racing games. This way it can become a very difficult task to pick one game that suits the entire family: do note that it is not impossible, and that there are many games that can be played as a family!

family gaming

Your aim should be to choose something that triggers the interests of the entire family as a whole. When playing together on a computer system (using multiple controllers) or on a gaming console (like Microsoft Xbox 360 or Sony Play Station), you can enjoy the game and take part in it equally. Moreover, it should be a feel good game.

Here are some pointers to remember when choosing a game for the entire family:

Find Common Interests

Your first step is to find where the common interest of the entire family lies -€“ it could be a puzzle game or even a less violent fighting game like Tekken. For this reason, everyone has to come to terms with one genre of games. Popular categories include fighting games, sports games, racing games, flying games, and even addition Games.

Multiplayer Games

The game should definitely be a multiplayer game to make it to your list of family games. This is one important prerequisite when finding the perfect game. There are games that allow even more than two players at one time – some games let around four people to play in one game. The rule here is: the more, the merrier.

Get Up On Your Feet

Choosing gaming consoles that force you out of your seats will be a great idea. Playing games on the Nintendo Wii U or the Kinect for Xbox 360 will let you jump around in the gaming room whilst you and your family enjoy a sports, dance, or even an exercise game. Most genres of games on these consoles are family friendly.

ESRB Ratings

You must check a game’€™s ESRB rating before you play it with family. Since there will be players of varying age groups, and young children or toddlers as well, you must choose the game accordingly. These ratings are as follows: EC (educational), E (everyone), E 10+ (for ages 10 and above), T (teens), M (mature; 17 and above mostly), AO (adults only), and RP (rating pending).

Read Reviews

If you have a game in mind, go online and read its online description to help you make up your mind. See online demos and video reviews to check whether this is the game play you are looking for.

Nice strategy to find a common & best game for your family Eric. Its better if the game is a multiplayer game so that every person of the family can actively take part in it. Thank you for sharing the factors needed to consider before picking up the best game for your family.

My opinion is a family needs no games! PC games are evil and sociopath. I vote for outdoor activities – fresh air, good mood and healthy kids is what America needs!
