4 Cheap Mobile VoIP Providers for Internet Calling

Modern cell phone plans are a nightmare for both homes and businesses to solve. Trying to figure out exactly how many minutes to get monthly is a hassle, and being wrong means overpaying one way or another. On top of this, there are fees for both texting and data plans on smartphones.

mobile voipWhat big mobile phone companies are keeping quiet about is the fact that users don’€™t actually need anything other than a data plan for texting and talking. This is achieved with the power of something called Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Mobile VoIP calls are routed through the Internet instead of over traditional phone lines, resulting in higher audio quality at a lower cost. To top it all off, VoIP providers include several features for free that mobile phone companies charge customers top dollar to use.

There are several choices when it comes to picking a VoIP provider, and what they all have in common are cheap rates. This allows users to forego a traditional mobile phone plan and simply pay for a data package, and then use a VoIP package to handle all of their phone calls for less. Below are 4 of the most popular and reliable mobile VoIP providers.

1. Vocalocity

Vocalocity is a great choice for those who run or are part of a business, because it is easily integrated into a business phone system. The Vocalocity app is available on both iPhone and Android, and places powerful business-class tools in a pocket-sized package.

One of the included features is a quick tap to call directory. The Directory allows users to see who is on a call, or check the status of a calling center’s call queue. The app also includes an advanced voicemail system that is accessible anywhere, since it is emailed directly to the user. If there’€™s not enough time to listen to the entire message, Vocalocity even emails a transcription of its contents.

2. 8×8

8×8 MobileTalk is perfect for international callers. When an international prefix is dialed, MobileTalk intelligently redirects the call to an access number that matches the mobile phone’s area code, and connects the call over the 8×8 VoIP phone service network. This transforms formerly expensive international calls into cheap local calls.

After a one-time activation fee of $9.99, 8×8’s mobile service only costs $9.99 each month after that, with flat calling rates for all calls international or otherwise. That way, families stay connected overseas, and can even take their smartphone with them for international calling without roaming fees.

3. Nextiva

Nextiva’s mobile plans start as low as only $8.95 a month. Easy call forwarding tools allow customers to have incoming calls on their home or business phone number set to ring on their mobile phone, or to any other number within their network. Changing which phones ring where is instant with the press of a button. There are also no setup fees or any contracts required.

4. RingCentral

RingCentral has all of the call routing features that other mobile VoIP providers offer, but also includes IP faxing as part of that service. With RingCentral, users receive faxes directly on their mobile phones, which saves money on ink, paper, and electricity. RingCentral lets subscribers choose their phone number, and lets them start using the service in only a matter of minutes.

Switching to a mobile VoIP provider is not only cheaper, but provides both companies and consumers with excellent tools for managing their phone calls and even their businesses. Traditional phone companies can’t do that, yet somehow they get away with charging exorbitant fees. That doesn’€™t make much sense, so do the thing that does. Start using a cheap VoIP plan on your smartphone, and start getting more for less.
