A job involving travel is a dream for many, but the logistics of a travel-heavy job can be difficult to manage. If you want to stay as efficient on the road as you are in the office, you’re going to need to put your Windows phone to work. You don’t always have your laptop at the ready, but smartphones are far more likely to be charged and connected to a data network. If you’re a frequent flyer, choose airlines that offer WiFi, such as Virgin America. Boost your productivity and streamline travel with these five business travel apps for Windows phones that will get your boss to keep you on the road.

Take Note & Get Organized

Evernote is a necessary business app for any device you’re using. The beauty of this note-taking software is that it seems simple at first, but you can do plenty with it. It syncs across all of your devices, so your information is available to you no matter where in the world you are. You can take simple notes, insert media and share vital information with your boss with a few clicks. Once you start using Evernote, you’re going to want to use it for everything.

Chat With the Locals

Enrich your travel experience by getting to know the locals. HCCMIS Insurance emphasizes the importance of “living local” on their travel blog. Immersion is a huge part of getting the most out of your cultural experience, especially when it comes to touring and dining options. “If you can go there at home, don’t go there in Europe,” the blog poster writes. If you’re worried about a language barrier, get an app like Google Translate. Google Translate keeps you safe and on track in foreign countries where you don’t speak the language. While it’s an imperfect app, it gives you a great starting point for communicating with the locals. Don’t get lost trying to find your hotel or the famous restaurant you wouldn’t want to miss while you’re in the country.

Find the Best Deal

Skyscanner is an app that frequent flyers simply cannot live without. It gives you an organized and easy-to-use rundown of the cheapest flights to just about anywhere. While there are hundreds of flight comparison apps available, Skyscanner is the best search tool if you’re flexible on flight days, times or locations. It scans the widest variety of airlines, destinations and travel sites from all over the world.

Crunch the Numbers

Expensify makes sure that you get reimbursed for everything that you spend on your trip. If you have a hard time keeping track of your expense reports to bring back to the office, this app is going to save you a lot of money. It syncs up your credit cards, debit cards and other accounts to give you the transactions used on your trip. It automatically tracks your expenditures and creates a report that makes it easy for your boss to understand the amounts spent.

Your Windows phone is a valuable tool for your business, especially when you’re on the road. Use these apps to keep business running smoothly€” from all corners of the world.
