Exciting New Smartphone Trends To Watch For In 2013

In the past years we have seen technology continue to improve, but now in 2013, there are a number of new and exciting technology advancements that are waiting to be launched. If you are a big technology geek or are simply looking for something new and exciting, here’s some new smartphone innovations to keep a look out for in 2013.

1. Smartphone Flex Screens

Smart

I’m sure we have all asked ourselves what’s going to be next in the world of technology? According to latest news we might soon be seeing the launch of the flex phone. It is said to boast a high-resolution display on extremely thin plastic, making it bendable and, most importantly, non-breakable. This could come as great news for those who seem to have a bit of bad luck with broken screens and may just be the new thing you are looking for.

2. Waterproof Smartphone

Water

All it takes is a careless slip and your pricey smartphone could, quite literally, be up the creek without a paddle. Fortunately due to several waterproof and water-repellent technologies that are making their way into manufacturing, this could be an invention that will save you quite much money if your smartphone decides to take a swim sometime.

3. Phablets

Blet

The name may sound complicated but the concept is actually quite straight forward. The main difference you will notice when comparing a general smartphone to a phablet is the screen size, ranging between 5 and 7 inches. This makes them considerably larger than a standard smartphone but enables users to carry out both the tasks performed on a smartphone and the tablet, also being light enough to carry around in your pocket. So those who would like a 2 in 1 mobile device, this could be the choice for you. If instead you prefer a smaller and more classic mobile device check here to find low priced blackberry phones for sale in Nigeria.

4. The Budget iPhone

Budget iPhone has been rumoured to be launched for the past two years, but now in 2013, it seems that Apple will finally be offering a budget version of their mobile device. This will come as great news for those who would like some of the same features of an iPhone, but at a much cheaper price. Retail prices are set to be around half the price of the original and are forecasted to be on sale around December 2013, so for those who are on a budget or even just like a bargain, be sure to add it to your next Christmas list.

I think we will see a steady trend towards thinner phones with larger screens, so your flex screen and phablet predictions are in line with industry trends. Already the Sony Xperia Z smartphone and tablet are waterproof, but the downside of this is that the headphone and USB connections have a fiddly cover over them – not sure if it will catch on!

I think the most exciting among these trends is the waterproof phone. Now there’s no need to worry about getting our smartphones wet whenever we have to take photos while we are doing water sports.

They are already advertising a watreproof phone here in the UK by Sony.
I don’t think that Apple will release a budget iphone in the west. Maybe for the far east markets.

Nice post vedprakash. I quite like the idea of flex smartphone & Phablets but what I am really looking forward to is some budget waterproof smartphone as I have a bit of hard luck in carrying these costly devices. Though Sony have already launched one, but it is too costly for me. In innovative sense I would go for flex phone but for safety I would choose waterproof phone.
