Electronic Calendars Slowly Replacing Older Methods

app calendar iconWhen was the last time you purchased a calendar to hang on your wall? How about one step further: when was the last time you purchased a book to write important dates down? Due to technology, both instances have become antiquated and unnecessary since we rely heavily on the calendars in our phones and on the Internet (sometimes our brain).

There are a few stores in various downtown locations that cater to specialized calendars that feature artists, cities, scenery and famous people. With Google calendars, websites that allow visitors to print calendars and other freebie calendars available online, the printed calendar industry is close to being ended, much like the milkman or daily ice deliveries.

As the market continues to innovate, that niche has probably met its ultimate demise.

Calendar website Timely has sought out an opportunity and has designed all-in-one event calendar software produced for individuals, non-profit groups, school teams, companies, churches and communities for organizational purposes, promotions or sharing with others.

Two versions are offered by Timely: the standard (free) and pro ($75 per year). The former was designed specifically for organizations like clubs and venues, while the pro version is a much more powerful tool for companies, media outlets and professional bloggers.

Each calendar has various features: importing of events, Facebook integration, Google Map, customizable themes, SEO, user feed submission (pro), super widgets (pro), stream view (pro) and category and tag filters. It is now available as a free plugin for WordPress.

The software has become very popular since it started. Many companies have adopted the software, such as Boston Tweetup, StartupSeattle, RocketSpace, BrixtonBuzz and British Columbia Technology Industry Association.

“We struggled with endless solutions for the BrixtonBuzz listings site, but this is the only one that has proved robust and feature-rich enough for our demanding needs. We can thoroughly recommend it,” said Mike from Brixton Buzz in a testimonial.

Aside from its calendar software, Timley offers various other services, including community calendar development, marketing consulting, website design and ad server setup. Prospective clients simply have to request a quote, insert contact information and what they’re interested in having get completed.

Over the past year, the company has received rave reviews from different kinds of websites.

Next time you’re looking for a calendar be sure to peruse Timely and find out if its calendar software is right for you. For orderliness and informing the public about an upcoming event, it’s best to be Timely.

Hi Zachary, I completely agree with you. Printed calendars are really becoming archaic these days. I don’t remember when was the last time that I saw a printed calendar in somebody’s house, as I personally stopped using it long ago.

Time.ly is really a great tool! Believe it or not, I still have an old school calendar hanging on my wall that has all of my relatives/friends birthdays on it, but I have slowly turned to this electronic tool to help keep me organized.

Yes technology is advancing very rapidly we don’t need any paper calenders to hang up on the wall.
