Spider Solitaire Rules for Absolute Beginners

spider solitaireIf you are a game lover, you must have heard of or played Spider Solitaire at some point in time for sure. For new players, this game looks like a boring and old sort of game, but with little temperament and dedication, you can learn the art of Spider Solitaire and enjoy your time playing this unusual and interesting game. As I said, you need dedication and calmness to understand this game`s rules and strategies. Spider Solitaire is perfect for people that are fond of games that require continuous strategy building and keeps you involved in the game all the time.

The basic goal in this game is to create a sequence of suits in ascending order; this usually sounds simple to some, but trust me, when you start playing this game, you will come to know that it is not as simple as it sounds. It requires deep planning and continuous modifications in the plans to achieve success in this game. In this article, we will be covering some of the basic strategies to ensure your victory in this game.

Free Columns

In this game, there are quite a few numbers of columns that you want to Free up to earn the point. You come close to victory when 2 of your columns are empty, and it gets better as you get your 3rd and 4th column empty. Hence it is critical to start freeing up the column with the least number of cards, as these are the easiest to empty. In this game, you have to keep changing your game plan to ensure that you are always one step ahead in this game.

Cleanup

After you have 1 or 2 columns Free in the game, you can have them rearrange to build up the sequence that you require to win the game. It is critical to always have 1 or 2 columns empty, though, as the main goal is to have these empty columns in the end. You will also have to remove the cards from a column and put them in another column just to get your sequence going, which is the ultimate goal of this game.

Exposing

Exposing in Spider Solitaire refers to the last option that a player has when he does not find any other move. The player exposes the new cards to keep himself in the game. To expose, you must move the cards into an empty column (you should have an empty column).

For many moves, Spider Solitaire offers the flexibility of undoing your move to get things one step back and help the player make another move instead.

Last but not least, players have the option of a DEAL card from the Talon to keep the game alive. Though it is not recommended to use the DEAL move too often in your learning stage, as it will prevent you from learning many of the techniques of this game that experienced players use in their game.
