Top 5 Wireless Chargers for Your Mobile

Wireless charging technology is a relatively new feature that you can now use to charge your mobile phone without ever having to plug it in directly. This is a great way to get rid of a lot of the cords that you might have on your desk or counter top. It also grants you the ability to charge multiple devices at once simply by putting them on a powermat charger.

How do these chargers work?

Instead of having to directly connect a wire into your phone, wireless chargers work by delivering power through the back side of most smart mobile phones. What this could mean is you may have to replace your outer case on your phone in order to take advantage of wireless charging. These mobile chargers will work with a variety of different smart phones automatically by changing the back of your phone to work with one of these mobile chargers is a small sacrifice to make to get rid of the cords and clutter. By changing the contact points to the back of the phone rather than the port that requires a direct line plug-in, you can simply lay down your phone on the charging mat and enable wireless charging. The amount of power that is outputted by these devices certainly varies so you may not be able to charge multiple devices on each and every charger. For the convenience factor of simply being able to lay down your phone on a mat and be free of all extra cords however, these chargers can be an excellent new way to charge up your favorite mobile phone devices. We took a look at some of the top five most popular wireless chargers that are available for your mobile devices so that you can make an educated purchasing decision when looking at one of these wireless chargers.

Wireless chargers comparison

Powermat 3X

Powermat 3X is perhaps one of the best wireless chargers that is available on the market today. It does have somewhat of an expensive price point at nearly $80, but it also has some of the best compatibility out of any charger that’s available on the market. This charger can work to power mobile phones, cordless phones and a variety of existing smart phones and devices from its dock specifications. Unlike some of the other charging mats that are available on the market this version also comes with a special magnet attraction that ensures that all of your devices are aligned and charging properly. When you lay a phone down on one of these power mats it can be difficult to tell whether the contact points are actually connected and the magnet feature makes it much easier to tell the difference. You can charge multiple devices side-by-side and the device will also automatically shut off whenever devices have reached their full charge. This is a great way that you can save electricity as some other power mats will not shut off after the devices reached its full charge. Indicator lights make it easy to tell when your device is completely charged so that you don’t need to check the battery light on your device directly. This is a great product and by far the best wireless charger available on the market.

Energizer Inductive Charger

Energizer has built their very own version of a powermat that includes the ability to charge two different devices at once. Is a little more expensive than the Powermat 3X and only works to charge the iPhone as well as the BlackBerry curve. This type of device may not be compatible with every single smart phone but it can provide an excellent charge for people that own these devices. This charger doesn’t have any of the magnetic additions or a charging light so many features are taken away and the price point is also around $20 more than the Powermat 3X.

WildCharge Pad

This wireless charger is compatible to charge two devices at once. It’s also extremely reasonable at just $50. The great part about WildCharge Pad is that it is also compatible with a variety of older devices. The main problem with this device however is that it does not have any type of automatic shutoff when a device reaches its full charge.

Duracell myGrid

Duracell has created their own version of a wireless charger that runs off of a special rechargeable battery. This device is extremely compatible with a variety of other noble phones and older devices. This charger also works to shut off and includes charging power for up to four different devices. Because of its amazing compatibility, rechargeable battery and the ability to charge up to four devices at once this is a great candidate for wireless chargers. It is however quite expensive at around $100.

Nexus 4 Wireless Charger

top5-wireless-chargers-Nexus4

This wireless charger is great for charging specifically Nexus 4 devices but does not have great compatibility with other phones and devices. It is fairly inexpensive at $60 but you can only charge just one device at a time. Its magnetic features work to properly connect contacts with the phone but it also doesn’t seem to have a shutoff feature when the phone is completely charged. Because of its lack of compatibility, and the extremely simple features that it offers this device can only rank fifth in our comparison charts.

Conclusion

Overall wireless charging shows quite a lot of promise. Being able to universally charge several different devices at once is certainly something that many families need with multiple mobile devices in one household. Currently devices such as these top five wireless chargers can help to reduce cord clutter and also offer a universal charger for household. However, it will be interesting to see just how wireless chargers evolve in the future to meet consumer demands.

Great topic you’ve chosen to write about there. After years of having mobile devices i’m sure that many people are finding their drawers packed with a tangle of old phone chargers. The evolution of chargers is more important than many people think. As the type of content we consume on the mobile web changes (video is become increasingly popular) the battery life and chargers for our mobile devices must adapt too. These wireless gadgets are a great way to charge up your device quickly and easily.

I personally prefer the wireless charger instead of the socket based charging as it is too time wasting and one have to wait till the phone is charged. Also the charging speed is a lot better in the Wireless charging.

I wonder whether, when Apple finally adds wireless charging, it won’t ignore both current methods and create some entirely new approach. Then we can get even more fragmentation and no charge stations in public places any time soon.
