Improving Conference Calls with VoIP and Mobile Technology

voipWith the numerous technological advancements we have today, conference calls have never been easier and faster. Thanks to innovations such as VoIP or voice over Internet protocol and mobile technology, gone are the days when people would join a three way call or five way call only to get confused by who they were talking to and by not knowing who might have been listening. Technology together with the Internet have changed the way global phone calls work. The conferencing industry continues to offer people more advanced solutions including the VoIP and conference calling mobile apps to meet not only their needs but also their businesses’.

With the help of the Internet and broadband technology, most people nowadays call one another through their computers. Their calls are usually conducted through the use of VoIP which has now become the most popular way to communicate with people especially with friends and family situated in different countries. The reason behind the popularity of the VoIP is due to the fact that it is globally available and is very affordable.

Aside from personal usage of VoIP, it is also now available in more advanced versions. Meaning, it is now equipped with better features such as improved call quality, robust global availability and has the capability to transform business conference calls into virtual meetings. The main advantage of using VoIP for business conference calling is the fact that it allows people to see one another with the use of software tools which are compatible to it. Due to these visual tools, miscommunication, misunderstandings and confusion that usually arise during audio conference calling are eliminated. Therefore, when a person connects via the VoIP technology, hosts will now be able to see right from their desktops who are trying to join. They can easily manage the participants, mute noisy lines and even record the discussions if needed. These tools make conference calls more effective and enable a kind of management which is hard to attain during a multi-person call.

Conference calling mobile apps have also been becoming more and more popular and why shouldn’t they be? Most people these days own their own smart phones and what is the use of smart phones if people do not use them for their full potential? The frequency of conference calls among consumers is considerably increasing and the good thing about VoIP is it not only allows communication using smart phones but also with the use of tablets and other WiFi capable devices. Like the software tool used in desktops, mobile applications also help in managing callers and groups much easier. There are also apps which users can make use of to enable them to see who they are talking to and share documents. Conference calling mobile apps together with the VoIP technology regardless of whether you use them for business conference calls or for personal calls help prepare people as well as businesses for the developing conference calling technology of tomorrow.

Thanks to technology, we are always given the solutions to our problems. And with VoIP and mobile apps, we now live in a world where communication has never been better. How do you use VoIP and how has it improved your communication? If you know of great mobile apps that can be used for conference calling, make sure to share them in the comment below!

Peter, it’s true that technology has made conference calls so much easier. Not only that, they now shouldn’t cost you a cent if you have a proper app. I myself like using Neatcall because it syncs with Google Calender!

Great article. In order to improve conferences calls with VOIP technology, one may deploy RHUB web conferencing appliances in order to conduct webinars, web conferences, etc. It provides HD VoIP audio conferencing wherein, all meeting attendees can use the computer microphones and speakers to conduct audio conferencing with HD voice quality. A decent headset is strongly suggested to avoid echo. It supports over 200 attendees in one meeting session.

I have been voip for a long time, and I think it’s the best. It all started when I was living out of state and calling family back home. Back then, it wasn’t as fancy as now, but it still worked great and it was free.
