Sim Free Galaxy S4 Price ‘Discovered’

With Samsung primed to release the Galaxy S4 on April 26th, the South Korean company have so far remained tight lipped on the price of its latest model.

The cell phone is a follow-up from the S3 (which was released in May 2012) a screen-shot taken by GSMArena shows the S4 price listing on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk at £529.99.

Available either in black or white, the prices for the 16GB version of the phone will put Samsung on an even ground with Apple’s current iPhone 5.

But what are the Galaxy S4’s features?

The price of course, may be justified however as the S4 will have an Exnost 5 Octa 5410 processor with a 1.6GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 chip and a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 in the big.Little configuration. Not forgetting a PowerVR SGX544MP3 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 2 GB of RAM.

For those who don’t quite speak ‘phone’, this means that the S4 is very powerful indeed; combining high end processing power with great battery efficiency.

The screen itself consists of a 5-inch Super AMOLED touch display with a 1920×1080 pixel full HD resolution at 441 pixels-per-inch.

The primary camera has a 13-megapixel sensor and an LED Flash. While the front camera offers another 2-megapixels. Both of these offer a major improvement from the Samsung Galaxy S3, which features 8-megapixels in its primary camera and 1.9 at the front.

Does the S4 beat the iPhone 5?

In terms of ‘beating’ the Apple iPhone, the S4 certainly looks to be the stronger model on paper.

Outperforming the iPhone in terms of GPU, RAM and in both cameras, the S4 looks to be the most advanced and  fastest smartphone ever released.

With that in mind however, it is expected that the iPhone 5s will arrive in late spring, and one of the rumoured surprises for the phone is fingerprint recognition technology.

According to The Telegraph:

“Many companies are hoping that these security features could soon be used in place of passwords for websites and mobile applications.

“Instead of having to remember complicated passwords, fingerprint identification would be quicker, easier and more secure.”

With just a few months until the expected release of the iPhone 5s, it will be interesting to see how the phone compares with Samsung’s latest release.

But is getting a SIM-free phone worth it?

One major advantage is that if you plan on travelling in the near future, you are free to put any SIM into your cell phone; meaning that if you’re a travelling businessman, international pre-paid SIM cards coupled with a SIM-free phone offers a great way to save money and stay in control of smartphone ownership one company that provides this is SIMSmart.

Ohh that’s pretty intresting. And there’s no doubt that Galaxy S4 beats the iPhone 5. S4 is a very cool and great smartphone. 😉

    Hi
I have read a couple of articles about what is going to be on the s4 and think it will well out perform the I phone 5 but I am also sure that apple have a long list of new features to combat Samsung at the top end of the phone market. As for the price I had a figure of about500 in my head. I didn’t get one but the s3 wasn’t much different in price when it was launched if my memory has not failed me.

    Great post thanks lee

To bad I can’t have a Galaxy S4 this year. I already got a Galaxy Note 2 just last December 2012. I’ll be skipping one generation and most probably will get what Samsung has to offer on 2014.

There is a facility that we can get from Sim Free Galaxy S4. Do not need sim card, and also avoid problem of sim. So, it can beat iPhone 5 usually for this extra facility.
