Lumia: Nokia’s Saving Grace

Almost 15 years ago, Nokia ruled the mobile phone market. The company gave us numerous phones that provided us with the flexibility and mobility to make and receive calls. These mobile phones had basic phone features that satisfied the needs of users up to the date when smartphones where introduced.

Sony Ericsson came to the picture and challenged Nokia. Apple came next and presented its very first iPhone. The battle for the top competitor in the mobile phone market has tipped to Apple and Nokia lost its throne. Ever since, Nokia was able to make any profit and even resulted in incurring financial losses over the years.

But Nokia has stood its ground. It now incurred a $584 million profit last quarter from its net sales. This simply means that Nokia is not yet out of the competition and can still offer consumers top-quality smartphones that can matchup to the top products in the market. Nokia has to thank its Lumia line of smartphones for this. But which among these gadgets are the ones that gave Nokia the boost?

Lumia 920 is one of the smartphones that Nokia has to thank for. It runs on Windows 8 OS which means that it has new features. It can certainly run well and multi-task without having to worry about lagging because it is paired with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5 GHz processor.

The only problem is that the Windows Store still lacks the number of applications that the App Store is boasting about. Taking the Play Store as an example, we can expect that the Windows Store would be jammed packed with applications in the months to come.

One feature that would set it apart from some of its major competitors is it wireless charging feature. This proves to be of great convenience to users for reduced cable clutter. Its 8 megapixel camera can also rival those of its main competitors as the 920 uses its PureView technology. This built-in camera can certainly provide high quality pictures from low-light subjects with reduced noise and high detail.

The Nokia Lumia 820 is the next smarphone to thank for. It is the baby brother of Lumia 920. It doesn’t have all of the amazing features that the 920 has, the wireless charging and PureView technology,  but it can still stand up to its own.

It also runs on Windows 8 OS. Paired with its snappy dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, users would not have to worry about lagging. It has a 4.3 inch AMOLED display which can be used even if the user is using gloves. Though it has a small battery in it, it is removable. This would allow its users to carry around extra batteries in case the one in the phone runs out of juice.

But the Lumia smartphone line is not the only products that Nokia has offered the public. The Nokia 808 PureView is a force to be reckoned it. The unit can certainly blast its competitors away with its 41 megapixel camera alone. It also paired with a Xenon flash which would help in providing users top-quality pictures.

Rising from the ashes like a phoenix, Nokia seems to be getting its feet grounded and ready for battle. We can expect a lot of new and amazing features and gadgets from Nokia in the months to come. It clearly shows that Nokia is ready to take back its throne back in the mobile phone market.

Nokia always has been a leader and pioneer of mobile industry. Globalization is not a drama for this company, it is a fresh chance to show off how cool they still are! Great Respect to Nikia!

I wouldn’t really say nokia are pioneers, they are hardly a samsung or apple in my opinion.

I’m sorry but how can you say Nokia are not pioneers when Apple & Samsung are?
