Quality Web Hosting On The Cheap

When searching for a product, it isn’t uncommon for quality to be sacrificed in order to attain a more affordable price. Fortunately, in the world of web hosting, there are numerous reputable companies that offer affordable hosting without a loss in service.

Comparing Web Hosting Companies

When comparing web hosting companies, you will soon find the competition is fierce, and there is little differentiation between the services and features offered. All offer unlimited disk space, bandwidth, email addresses, and add-on domains. Reading personalized reviews may provide the most help in making your choice. Here is a brief overview of the deals available from just a few of the several reputable web hosting companies:

o- justhost.com: Costs only $4.45 per month and offers 24/7 technical support; free domain name, free site builder, free e-commerce shopping carts; Google Ad, MySpace Ad, and Yahoo Ad Credits, and a money back guarantee.

o- hostgator.com: At only $3.96/month, HostGator provides hosting for over 5 million domains and guarantees 99.9% uptime. HostGator also offers a 45 day money-back guarantee, around the clock technical support, and 4,500 free website templates.

o- webhostinghub.com: At a discounted price of $3.95/month, users can enjoy all of the basic perks provided by other web hosting companies, including unlimited disk space and bandwidth, but also a free premium web builder, 24/7 U.S. technical support, and a 90-day money back guarantee.

o- inmotionhosting.com: Offers different levels of service, including three different value package options (starting at only $3.00/month). While offering three different tiers of value packages, InMotion Hosting is more concerned with upselling customers to their “business class” web hosting plans, which is surprisingly not much more expensive than their value plans.  InMotion’s business class hosting begins at $3.95/month, and offers daily data backup in addition to numerous other features.

Environmentally Friendly Web Hosting on the Cheap

Since it can be challenging to decide on a quality web host provider as nearly all of the features are the same, consider choosing a web hosting company that utilizes wind energy to power their facilities.

o- ipage.com: With a monthly cost of $4.25/month, iPage boasts all-green web hosting, with 100% of their power being generated by wind energy. iPage also offers a free domain name, free Yahoo and Facebook marketing credits, and a free and customizable online store.

o- fatcow.com:  At $4.67/month, FatCow is also 100% powered by wind energy. FatCow also provides a live chat feature for customers, free domain name, free website builder, free YellowPages listing, and a $50 Google Adwords and $50 Facebook ad credit.

o- supergreenhosting.com: Whether their “super green” approach to hosting is merely a marketing ploy or out of genuine concern for the environment, Super Green hosting boasts 99.9% uptime, and servers are wind-powered. Super Green is also a carbon-neutral project, and they even claim to plant trees to reverse the effects of global warming.

Conclusion

Truth be told, it will be impossible to tell the difference between the services offered from the aforementioned companies, as they all offer quality web hosting at cheap prices. The only true differences will lie in the quality and helpfulness of customer service, and whether the look and feel of their control panel fits your needs and desires. As all of the hosting providers offer money-back guarantees, you can audition as many of the web hosting providers as necessary in order to make your decision.

Really hosting has become really cheap , unlike it used to be a few years ago. That offers and discounts you get on hostings like goDaddy and hostgator are simply mindblowing. 😉

Great article Jason. I have tried a couple off your list and I have to say that Just Host is the best ‘cheap’ hosting company that I have came across. I will take a look at some of the green hosting companies that you have listed. Unfortunately we don’t have a large number of established environmentally friendly hosting companies in Australia or in the UK (where I started off).
