What’s The Best Tablet For You?

When you’re out to buy a tablet PC, it’s just like buying a computer or a phone. There are so many choices and all the brands and stores out there are telling you that this gadget is the best. But what you should be looking is what’s right for you. What’s the best tablet for you doesn’t just cover your needs, but also your preferences.

So to help you decide which tablet really suits you, take a look at the following considerations:

1. Storage capacity

Even before you think about the tablet brand you prefer, think about how much storage you need. This depends on the kinds of files and apps you want to carry around with your device. If you plan to lug around movies and shows, then you might need to get at least a 32 gigabyte model. If you just need documents and e-books, then you can probably get by with the 16 gigabyte model as long as you don’t download apps that are too large.

2. Ease of use

Anybody can use a tablet PC, and can eventually get the hang of their own device (probably), but the time it takes to get to that geisha-like grace of navigating your own tablet may be too long for you. If you prefer a tablet that’s easy to use over any fancy specs or special features, then you should get an iPad. If you don’t really mind or even love going through all the intricacies of using a tablet or computer, then knock yourself out with an Android tablet.

3. App selection

Without a doubt, the Apple App Store has more applications than the Google Play Store. Also, if you’re planning to get an iPad 2 or later version, you can be sure that whatever app you download is usable and compatible. With Android tablets, it gets very tricky. Depending on the hardware specs of your device, it may or may not be able to use certain apps like small business phone services, certain games, HD video players and resource-heavy games.

4. App downloads

You may think that all tablets are created equal in this regard, but you’re quite mistaken. Any iPad can download apps directly from the App Store even without a computer. Android tablets, however don’t have the same capabilities. Always check if the tablet you’re eyeing has the Google Play Store that allows you to get apps right on your tablet. If not, you probably have to side load your apps, or download them from a computer then transfer them through a USB cable. Usually, the absence of the Google Play Store and the added hassle brings the price down. Think about if it’s something you can live with or something you can learn.

5. Customization

Sometimes, being able to customize your tablet to your exact preferences is a big thing for most users. If you really want to be able to change the font, font size, font color and screen transition among many other things, then you should be looking at Android tablets.
