7 Creative Uses For Mobile VoIP

Mobile VoIP has many features that can benefit cellphone users.  Knowing how to maximize these features creatively makes life more convenient for you.

1. Send voice messages to many people simultaneously

To send multiple copies of your voice message, call from your cellphone, record your message, and have them automatically delivered to others’ phones.  This saves you the trouble of texting, emailing, or calling them one by one.  That way, you can deliver your message on a short notice.

2. Listen to your voice mail messages in audio format

Most VoIP users receive their voice mail messages as email.  In mobile voice mail, you use the right client software to receive voice mail.  VoIP services usually send messages to the mobile phone in .wav format or other audio formats.  Other VoIP providers do not send the audio message itself.  Instead, it converts the audio file into text-based data that contains information like the name of the caller.

3. Use speaking instead of pressing keys to dial and transfer calls

Dialing by voice is ideal for those who have difficulty typing small mobile keypads with their fingers.  Just speak the person’s name to call someone or add his/her name to your contact directory.  You can also transfer calls between mobile phones and landlines by speaking commands like “transfer Smith residence” or “transfer (name of company).”

4. Separate personal and business voice mail

If you receive almost all of your calls by mobile phone, you may want to separate your personal and business callers.  Some VoIP voice mail services allow you to record different greetings for different categories of callers.  For example, you can greet friends with “Howdy” and your business contacts with “Good day.”  You can also get rid of unwanted callers by allowing them hear your message without letting them leave voice messages for you.

5. Read voice mail messages in text form

Sometimes reading messages is easier than listening to them, especially if you spend lots of time attending meetings.  Listening to all of your voice messages can be time consuming, especially if you have so many messages in your voice mail inbox.  Voice-to-text transcription allows you to read your voice mail messages in email or SMS format instead of listening to them.  You may also type your message and ask your VoIP service to convert it to voice before delivering it to your recipients’ phones.

6. Talk to others in Spanish without studying Spanish

Some VoIP services lets you speak in English, then translate your words into Spanish before passing them to a Spanish-speaking recipient.  All it costs to use that service is a VoIP call.  You do not need to take up language lessons or hire an interpreter to talk to a foreigner who cannot understand English.  You can also use the language translation feature to learn the foreign word for certain menu items in an exotic restaurant in other countries.

7. Send audio messages besides voice mail

In cases where you prefer sending quick messages over talking to someone, just dial a special number, speak the contact’s name, and say what you want in a short recorded message.  Then the recipient receives a text message informing them that you sent him/her an audio message.  The recipient dials another special number to hear the message.  With this feature, you do not have to cram your message into a text message or worry that your recipient won’t receive your email.

Many people are unaware of how good VoIP technology has become, while others simply don’t know it exists. For businesses, SIP Trunking is the ultimate VoIP product which gives a company all the telecom power it needs to operate at peak efficiency.

Voice sms is sending message in voice. It is not text. A message is recorded in voice and send to all the potential customers. This voice sms has greater impact on customers.

One more thing to add to the list: “text-to-speech” – write your message and send it to be read. You usually have some options to choose the voice and language.
