  5. You made all the right points except you should buy your own domain name and hosting. You have more control and owning site can help it rank better in search engines than a free blog can. Register domain for mutiple years and find domain name with keywords for niche it wil pay dividends in long run to own site and not use a free hosted blog.

  6. Do you think that a blog can help any kind of business or will it only work with certain types of companies? For example, do they work better with service based businesses or with product based businesses? I am working on my friend’s website (he is a lawyer) and wonder if I should add a blog to it.
