REVIEW: Will The IPad Mini Live Up To Its Billing?

The saddest thing about technology is that the hunger for it is insatiable. The moment we get something new, we love it and keep on using it, till we get bored. After that, once again we itch for something newer.

Now, in this kind of a situation, the biggest blow is, when you expect something, and are faced with something completely different. I guess that’s what happened with the iPhone 5. I mean, could you believe the kind of rumors that flooded the internet about the kind of device it’s going to me.

Some blogs said it would be transparent, some others said it would have more buttons. What I am trying to say here that people pack so many almost godly powers in a device (only talks) that when the actual gadget is released people don’t like it anymore, because, you know, it is in fact, earthly.

What really happens is that by the time the device is rolled out in the market, the excitement is already over, because the chatter about something new has already begun. I hope I am not the only one who feels that way.

Actually, I was really badly waiting for the iPhone 5 so I could buy one and enjoy Apple the way it should be, you know. But by the time its release dates came closer, i heard about the iPad mini, and I thought to myself, hey, why not just wait for a few more days and pick the iPad mini, because it is so much more awesome!

So here I am, talking about the iPad mini. Let’s take a peek at what all this little boy promises to offer:

Release

First things first. When is this beauty going to be released? Well, rumor has it that Apple has been discretely got around sending invitations set for 17th of October. So the world of rumor has gotten busy thinking that this may be the launch, and the release is expected to be somewhere between the 29th of October and the 2nd of November.

I guess because it’s going to be just in time for the festive season and to get a little heads up on Google Nexus. Considering it is an Apple initiative, it is obvious that it will be a serious competition to some other tablets in the mini- series.

Price

So, since the device is smaller, can we expect a smaller price? Rumor has it that Apple has strategically priced the device in the $200 to $300 category. It is obviously a lot less than others from the Apple family, but if you hold it against other bidders of this segment, it continues to be a tad bit on the more expensive side.

Screen

The much talked about aspect of the iPad mini is the screen. Apparently the screen is supposed to be 7.85 inches. This means it will be bigger than the 7 inch tablets in the industry. Also it MAY have the same retina display which gives the screen an almost magical quality. The total thickness of the device too will be approximately similar to that of the iPod Touch.

Well for now, that’s all I am going to tell you so that the excitement remains in place!

It’s true that most of us have this insatiable desire to have all the latest gadgets and I guess this desire is here to stay as long as these technology giants keep producing advancements and new products to yearn for. Although the iPad mini seems tempting, I don’t see myself making another purchase, I find it to steep anyway if it’s true that it’s going to cost around $300. Thanks for sharing!

For me, the iPad mini is too pricey for my liking. But I think it’s a good gadget, I’m just not comfortable buying something at a very large price.

Well, the iPad mini needs to be released first before we actually find out if it’s the bomb! We can only speculate until the time comes its available in the market.

It’s actually really depressing how everyone finds satisfaction in having the latest product, mainly just for the sake of having it. I don’t know if I’m ever picking up an iPad Mini, but at the rate things are going now, I might just pass. Sure, it’s more compact, but am I really going to spend $300 on a smaller version of my current iPad? I love Apple products, but I think it’s disheartening when people go all out to get the latest gadgets from them just because it’s trendy. That’s my take on it.

I’m really not fond of these technological gadgets and its latest editions. One gadget is enough for me as long as it proves to be reliable and functions according to my preferences.
