6 Incredible Ways To Automate Income & Automate Links For Your Blog

The end goal for many bloggers, especially those in the Internet marketing niche, is to build a full-time income online. Put up a blog, stick up some affiliate links, slap up some Adsense and in six months you might be able to quit your job…. That’s the idea anyway.  Unfortunately a blog is rarely able to accomplish this goal.

I think part of the reason for this is because so much of the information on how to “make money blogging” is so vague. We’re are provided with a bulleted list of ways to generate traffic (Twitter, Search Engines) and money-making ideas (Affiliate Marketing, Adsense, Product Creation) but no specific examples of how they’re actually used to generate sales in the real world.

In this post, I’m going outline exactly how I automate the process of generating sales and building links for my own blog. These are not theories or regurgitated concepts that I’ve read somewhere else. This really is the way I’m automating my blog for sales and links right now.

Setting Up the Auto Responder Sequence for Automated Income and Links

The way most bloggers are able to automate sales is by building an email list, setting up an auto responder sequence, and selling products to the list.  This is the main profit driver for my blog as well. How I set my blog up for automated profits and links is outlined below.

Tool Tip: I use a program called aWeber.com to collect e-mail addresses from my visitors and send out emails on my auto responder list.

Step One: First things first, in order to get automated income and inbound links you need to get people on your email list. This gives you access to website visitors again and again over time. To encourage people to sign up for my email list, I provide them with a free bonus called the StartSEOCompany.com Fast Start Kit. Including a free bonus that people actually want is a very simple way to increase the percentage of website visitors that will actually join your list.

Step Two: After someone signs up for my e-mail address, the second step sends them to a thank-you or confirmation page that basically says the submission for the free bonus was a success. However, this thank you page also features an affiliate link to Raven SEO Tools and mentions the software is essential for SEO businesses.

Frankly, the payout structure for this program doesn’t amount to much for me. A lot of people click through the link, but less than 1% actually end up purchasing the product. Still, this is a program I actually use and believe can really help out SEO consultants; especially if they’ve got 5 or more client SEO campaigns to keep track of.

Step Three: In part three, the new subscriber to my email list finally opens their free bonus as promised. However, included with their first email is a link to information about my own product called the StartSEOCompany.com Enterprise SEO Package. For individuals that want to learn how to start their own SEO company fast this is a great opportunity since they get my product free when testing out the Internet Marketing Advantage 7 day trial through my affiliate link.

Long story short by the time an email subscriber opens up their first e-mail from me, I’ve already pitched them for two different affiliate products.

Step Four:  Next, I send the new lead a follow-up email two days after their sign up. In this e-mail I provide them with two free SEO contracts, which is a great value for my email-list subscribers. Also in this e-mail is a resource for additional free SEO contracts and training materials with an affiliate link to a product that is similar to mine. This product converts pretty poorly and I plan to switch it out eventually, but it’s still another automated income opportunity that my readers get value from and are usually happy to check out.

Step Five:  In this step I finally cover how to I leverage e-mail list subscribers to build links for my website. Here’s what I’ve done to accomplish this.

1.) Created a second free training pdf and video series teaching people how to optimize for Local SEO. 2.)  Next, I use a free tool called Cloud Flood to prevent people from accessing my training guide and videos without ReTweeting or Facebook Liking my website first.

By including this component within my e-mail auto responder series, it ensures that my website will continue receiving Retweets and Likes overtime without any additional effort from yours truly.

Step Six: Build more content, repeat and stick to the game plan. Continue developing more content and referring users back to that great content as it is published on your website through your auto-responder. The more content you develop the more people will return to your website, find your site through search engines and potentially make a purchase.

That sounds really interesting. I was only aware of sending people some good information after getting their email addresses but the idea of using CloudFlood is really great. Please accept the thanks again.

Hey no problem. Yeah, CloudFlood is SUPER easy to set up as well so if you’ve got an afternoon to put together a cool freebie I recommend it.

    Hi Brett.
This is a very nice guide which will help not only me but alot of other people (at least I hope so). The only question I got is: is the program you mentioned (aWeber.com) legal and free?

Usually you have to pay a monthly fee for aweber but they do offer some discounts and promotional offers from time to time. However, they are usually quite reliable and good value for money.

HI Andy – Check out http://mailchimp.com/. It’s a program similar to aWeber.com and I think you can get up to 500 email list subscribers for free.

As admin have said, not free, but sure they are “legal” – your emails will actually get delivered in costumers’ inboxes and not their junk folder! I would recommend them especially if you have a bigger mailing list! Or hoping to have! 🙂

Interesting, but what about blogs that are not on SEO for example. For example on my blog I simply want people to be able to sign up for an e-mail list that tells them whenever a new article is written. What’s the best way to do that?

Yes… you can set up your auto responder to update email list subscribers when you post new updates to your blog. The topic doesn’t matter.
