Remove Spyware

Spyware and viruses are two of the biggest threats to any kind of computer as they can potentially corrupt files in a computer system which in turn makes the system unhealthy and prone to attacks by hackers. It is therefore important to save your device from these sort of risks which could also result in leakage of critical data from within your laptop computer. A useful way to do this is by using Microsoft security essentials to beef up your laptop’s security level and avoid intruders and all sort of viruses from gaining access to your system. Free Up Disk Space

There are many clutter files which gets generated and are stored without intimation, so you need to identify those and need to clean them. Although manual deletion will not ensure that all clutter files are wiped out, with the help of some simple tools and tricks you can easily clear out clutter and all unwanted slugs from your laptop computer. A very easy example of how to free up disk space on your laptop includes the removal of temporary Internet files, deleting downloaded programs like Active X controls and Java applets, emptying the recycle bin, removing all error reports from the Windows 7 temporary log files and uninstalling programs that are not in use.

  1. I think like windows XP , windows 7 have automatic freeing up the disk space and first of all it remove temporary files.

  2. In my case its spyware and the extra files that make my laptop dam slow for no good reason and i think the right management of files is one of the key things to maintain the quality speed of any laptop or PC.

  3. Thanks for sharing. I also like using CCleaner for cleaning up my computer. Also its a good idea to deactivate startup programmes which you dont use. This will save you a lot of memory.

  4. I would also add defragmentation as a way to speed up your computer. Another technique to speed up your computer is to remove the unwanted programs that start up when the computer boots up and keep using your processor in the background.

It is also advisable to use a good computer management software such as System Mechanic that will assist you in bringing out the maximum performance of your computer.

  5. I agree with Kevin and Jessica. Disk Cleanup (I second CCleaner too!) and Defragmentation which is often neglected is also essential for smooth performance and preventing slowdowns. In fact my personal drive maintenance routine is a weekly cleanup and defrag is handled by an excellent automatic defragmenter that runs in the background and does the job intelligently. Keeps the HDD well organized and data acces very fast.

  6. I can think of better ideas.

Configuring startup processes and services and using a SSD Drive are two of the biggest that come to mind.

  7. I love Readyboost, I’ve used it on my laptop as well. Who knew that a simple usb flashdrive can be used as an extra RAM. It’s great that we have these kinds of upgrades, because upgrading a laptop’s specifications as we all know is very difficult or even impossible.

Aside from that, a computer’s speed has a lot to do with file management. And you’re right, the disk defragmenter is just the way to do it.
