10 Ways to Spice Up Your Tech Life

laptopfireThe world is becoming more and more technologically advanced every passing day. There are good examples all around us to see – mobile phones, smart-phones, the Internet, smart-cars, remote controls, 3D television sets, tablet computers and so on. It is probably only a matter of time before things like flying cars are added to this growing list. So then, as a blogger, have you ever wondered how you could take advantage of what technology has to offer in such a way that you actually begin to enjoy it more and reap the rewards that come with it? If the answer to this question is yes, then you are in the right place as we will be looking at ten ways bloggers can spice up your online presence.

Participate In Online Forums

Being a successful blogger is all about communication. As the saying goes, a tree does not make a forest and you can share and exchange ideas with rookies and experts on various online forums.

Leave Your Comfort Zone

It it not enough to focus all your attention on your blog niche. Make a list of things you need and want to try – you can learn something new by exploring other areas.

Try Other Platforms

Not everyone is tech savvy. If your blogging platform is difficult to comprehend, do not hesitate to give others a try. Apart from WordPress, other blogging platforms include Blogger and Tumblr.

Use E-books

There are many e-books that can teach you useful tips and tricks to use in your blogging endeavour and not all of them cost money.

Network on Social Sites

The importance of networking cannot be over-emphasised in blogging. Social-networking sites such as Facebook offer ample opportunity to network with other bloggers for example, NetworkedBlogs on Facebook.

Subscribe to RSS Feeds

Whilst it’s difficult to keep up to date with your favourite blogs. By subscribing to an rss feed by a reader or email makes it a lot easier to choose interesting articles to read.

Start Tweeting

With Twitter you can get a lot of followers who are interested in what you do.  Another advantage of using twitter is convenience i.e. the fact that you can tweet on the move with mobile gadgets such as smart-phones and tablet computers.

Be Spontaneous

By thinking out of the box you can push routines to one side and try to do things in a new and different way until you find the most comfortable position for your online activity.

Write Comments

Don’t just visit other blogs. Learn to write and leave meaningful contributions in the form of comments on sites that you visit. By doing so you can make a name for yourself in your chosen niche.

Use Quickies

There is no doubt that technology makes things simpler and you have to take advantage of this fact. You are no longer limited by location or timing and so do not have to always blog from a desktop PC or directly from your blogging platform. Be smart, explore other simple and fast ways of posting articles, videos, games or music directly to your Website.

Or you could shut down the PC, and enjoy something called real life. Geez, why “spice” up your tech life when you could spice up regular good ole life?

I tend to agree with Henway. Technology improves our lives, but why take the effort to spice up our tech life when we could be using the same amount of effort to spice up our real life?

It’s true that social networking, blogging, etc., allow us to keep in touch with people we would have lost forever had technology not been there. On the other hand, I sometimes tend to think that while we may feel connected, our connections are rather shallow. Then again, shallow connections are a part of the non-tech world too. I guess the tech world just allows us a greater number of shallow connections than the non-tech world would normally give. Just thinking aloud.

Ironically, despite my harangue on tech life, I am still obviously logged on to my computer and spicing up my life by sending this comment 🙂

A person who is too much into internet surfing, for him managing things is a tough job. Even for me sometime it becomes so panic and i dont understand what to do first. The strategy you mentioned above can be a good solution to deal with all things.

I liked the way you suggested to spice up your tech life. But I completely do not agree that blogging and social networking makes our life spicy.
In todays world The one who is not networking is not social is a true saying but are u seriously becoming social by networking ??? From my point of view it is a NO.

Therefore I personally think that only Networking is not going to make us Social, we – ourselves has to be social to make the Society great.

Your Idea of Spontaneous is awesome. I really like it and this is what I was thinking a day before. We always should think out of the box and should get better ideas and implement them as well. Because, without implementing, or practical, ideas have no worth.

More great advice! It’s true, you really have to be spontaneous and be willing to take risk to learn and evolve. If you’re too scared to try anything, you’ll miss so many great opportunities!
