The United Nations Tech Group (International Telecommunication Union) has revealed the differences in Worldwide access to and cost of broadband services. According to the report, the Central African Republic is the most expensive place to get a fixed broadband connection with cost standing at almost 40 times the average monthly income while Macao in China is the cheapest at 0.3% of the average monthly income. I’d say it’s extremely important. All of the ones in the top five are very well off financial and economically, while the bottom five are….well not.

I wonder why Macao is among the lowest… is it because the economy is booming and being supported by casinos?

Thanks for sharing the statistic, most of the African countries are still behind in communication general. How I hope to be working from Macao in China.

This is so interesting to know. Central African Republic would be the last thing in my mind if I’d be asked about the most expensive but the data you’ve shown is clear. China is no doubt the cheapest.

This makes me even more angry. Macao and Hongkong are among the cheapest. But Beijing and most of mainland China is really expensive and slow.
I pay more for my internet in Beijng than I do in the Netherlands. And my Dutch connection is litteraly more than 10times as fast.

I still don’t understand why the government doesn’t fix this.
