Apple is set to launch the sale of its iPad tablet computer in 9 other countries this week. The device will go on sale in Ireland, Hong Kong, the Netherlands (Holland), Austria, New Zealand, Singapore, Luxembourg, Mexico and Belgium on Friday, July 23 2010. This means that interested users will now be able to choose which of the 3G and Wi-Fi model to purchase.

The prices of the iPad tablet in these countries are expected to be similar (equivalent) to their prices in the United States where it was originally launched on April 3. Furthermore, analysts expect the total number of iPad sales made by Apple will double once the device is released in all of the nine countries above. If that happens, then Apple will make even more profit from earlier sales which saw a record 3 million units sold in less than one month. It remains to be seen whether the iPad fever will be as powerful and effective in the new countries listed above.

Following the iPad’s launch in America, the device was released in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Canada and Italy on May 28.

Talking Point

How successful do you expect the iPad will be when it goes on sale all over the world? Are you looking forward to being able to purchase the tablet device at local stores and retail outlets in your own country?
