Mozilla has finally released the latest version of its Firefox Web browser. After a bit of delay, Firefox 3.6.4 can now be downloaded from the official Mozilla Web site.

What’s New?

Mozilla estimates that as many as one in three browser crashers occur due to problems with third-party plugins. As a result, the latest Firefox Web browser provides better stability feature that should make uninterrupted browsing possible for Windows and Linux users especially when a major plugin crash occurs, for example as a result of Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins. The browser also comes with an added “Crash Protection” system that will run plugins separately from the Firefox process, thus making it easier to close any affected tab or reload the page concerned. Therefore, if a plugin crashes or freezes, the “Crash Protection” plugin will prevent the crash from affecting the rest of browser and the users browsing experience. This means that users will still be able to reload Web pages so as to restart problematic plugins and try using the Web browser again.
Furthermore, Firefox 3.6.4 fixes the following issues which were present previous Firefox 3.6 versions.

  • Several security problems, which includes 10 vulnerabilities in 7 updates, 4 of which are critical
  • Key stability issues

Although the Crash protection mechanism mentioned above does not extend to Mac  computers, Mozilla expects this feature to be implemented for Mac users in Firefox 4. However, there is no specific schedule for other plugins to be added yet. The complete list of changes can be found here.

  2. Firefox is the best. Not even thinking about changing my browser! Everything renders properly, even the most trashy sites/code works.

  3. It’s much better. Before, whenever I opened a new window, the whole thing would crash. Or, if I’d just turned my computer back on, Firefox would be reeeeally slow. I’m not having those problems anymore.

  4. Firefox rules. A quite some sites do not work nice (or at all?) with IE. The problem is that it comes with Windows. So people use it, specially the “default” users, like my sister (hehehe). Well, they will evolve one day. 🙂

  5. Mozilla Firefox is simple and more wonderful and is well known. Mozilla Firefox a strong contender for the Internet Explorer browser. Mozilla Firefox also contains features such as the organization of the pages on the form Tabs at the top of the page.
Also support the feature instant news RSS existing tags. Also add the Plugins which gives you a whole world of add-ons such as weather and load management programs attached. It is compatible with all versions of windows.

  6. My relatives always say that I am wasting my time here at net, however I know I am getting know-how daily by reading such nice content.
