The Best Way to Add a Self-Hosted WordPress Blog to YouTube

youtubeWhile thinking about including video tutorials on this blog, I decided the best way of doing so was by using YouTube. Hence, I opened a new YouTube channel (techslingTV) but got stuck at the Blog Set up page (Settings > Blog Set up> Add Blog) when I was asked to enter my WordPress API Key. I thought the API Key was something WordPress.com dished out and could not remember ever getting one from WordPress.org.

Then came along this great video I found on YouTube after doing a little search. I call it the best ever tutorial on this issue and describe it as the best way to add a self-hosted WordPress blog to YouTube because of the simple way in which it solved the problem. I won’t give much away and let you take a look yourself, especially if you have a similar problem. Let me know if you have any questions or comments afterwards otherwise hope it helps.

I didn’t have an API key in my WP profile but that’s probably because I set up my blogs through my hosting providers. Anyway, I had to set up a wordpress.com account to use plugins like Aksimat so my key was emailed to me. Great video though, very helpful. I will def. link my Youtube account to my blog. Thanks!

YouTube an incredibly easy platform to use. I set up the SanDiegoLuxuryHomes site in just a few minutes. It’s a great way to feature properties and information about real estate. And as a bonus, YouTube is receiving a lot more weight by Google. Video site maps are the next big thing.

Looks like the video is set to private. I wasn’t able to check it out. I’m a bit confused with your discussion here. Do you have any other link that can clarify this one?

Had the same problem as Aaron thanks for the updated link in the comments section. Very helpful post although I recommend you replace the video to one that isn’t private. Great little technique to add the blog to YouTube thanks as I had no idea you could actually do it, thanks.

Thanks for clearing the WP API thing cleared up. I am lucky enough that I finally can post to my own blog, but when I saw those three letters (API), I felt a bit over my head. Thanks for the useful resource.

Nowadays, when everyone is turning towards Videos, it has become very crucial to seamlessly embed the videos on the blog pages. I have experienced several problems while doing so but the video you recommended was really a time-saver.

I am also inclined towards using the plugins to do this job, if they are better for this.
