The recent discovery of two new forms of malicious programs in Mac OS X, has made security experts sit up and take notice. This viruses, it appears, targets the operating system through pornographic Websites. When users log on to the sites, they are into downloading a so-called “missing Video ActiveX Object”, which in reality is actually an updated “version of the Mac OS Tored worm – and a Trojan called OSX/Jahlav-C.
Although most virus attacks have been targeted at PC users, similar attacks on Mac computers are quietly on the increase. Although the total number of such viruses cannot be confirmed, one thing is certain, Mac owners can no longer afford to be complacent. Attackers are getting more sophisticated and devising new means of infecting Mac systems everyday so users need to be more conscious of possible risks and invest in quality Mac OS anti-virus software.

This is very interesting, I thought that Mac’s were the omnipotent computer and OS. It’s good to know that they are susceptible to the evils of viruses that PC users are vulnerable to as well.

These days the virus attacks are on the peak point and we the internet users sometimes never think about the computer security sometimes, So this one sounds to be a good solution.

I have shaw secure which in basicly from F-Secure and there have recently been reports of the infection trying to attack my computer. I’m running on windows xp.

Mac is much more safer than Windows PC. Though viruses have been created to destroy mac too.

Thanks for the read. A little outdated now. Do you have an update on this article? I think it was inevitable, Macs would eventually get viruses.
