Apple Launches iPhone 3GS

Yet another iPhone update – the new iPhone 3GS has been described by Apple as the “fastest and most powerful iPhone yet”. This latest release was announced at the organisation’s annual World Wide Developers’ Conference (WWDC) conference in San Francisco. iPhone 3GS will include new features that would make ordinary tasks, such as initiating programs and launching new applications, much faster than previous handsets. It will also feature video recording, voice control, a digital compass and up to 32 GB of storage.

In addition, the iPhone 3GS will possess enhanced security, faster Internet surfing, direct YouTube uploads, and improved battery life which would result in an increase of up to 5 hours talk time and 9 hours web browsing. The handset will be released into the US, EU and UK markets on 19 June 2009 and will cost about $199 (£124) for a 16GB version and $299 (£186) for a 32GB version.

While I find some of these new additions quite interesting, I would not describe them as innovative. It is actually quite disappointing that there is no new-fangled or extraordinary addition to the 3GS that would push the iPhone further ahead of its competitors. This development or lack of it could therefore be seen by rivals such as the newly launched Palm Pre smartphone (described by the Wall Street Journal as iPhone’s “strongest rival to date“) as a sign that the multimedia smartphone market is still up for grabs.

Yeah I thought it was going to have at least a talking GPS – one thing I haven’t heard and maybe you know – Have they fixed the little blue box issue? And does this new 3Gs camera come with a built in flash?
I would appreciate it if you could shout me or drop by my site a leave an answer if you know anything about these 2 questions.
    Thank so much
    Many blessings

Unfortunately the 3GS camera does not come with in-built flash and the little blue box issue will not be resolved until Adobe updates Flash to be compatible with the iPhone. Until then, Safari will only display videos that are encoded in Quicktime.

There have some solid changes between the previous version and the current 3gs version of the iPhones. There are lots of performance boosting upgrades in 3gs version. Anyway thanks for the information..
