BI Tool Incorporation With Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online

MS Excel based BI tools can be easily incorporated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online data. Users can now connect BI tools with Dynamics CRM data inside their insights gathering efforts.

Microsoft is making efforts for Power BI users in acquiring business insights via dynamics CRM online. It has introduced latest connector for CRM- until now, users were able to link to CRM online with the help of OData feed connector, which was not much discoverable for the majority of users.

Users can now find Microsoft Dynamics CRM online under the “from other sources” in excel power query that requires a valid URL input and their credentials. Power query helps linking to Power BI and enables rank-and-file employees to determine data using excel sheet software’s familiar interface and tool set.

Once the authentication is done, power query recovers the tables and entities list that are available in dynamics CRM. The navigator task pane showcases the list and enables the users to select one or multiple items or load them to the spreadsheet- in the same way like any other data source in Power Query does.

Microsoft is working really harder to expand Power BI’s reach and offering user-friendly methods to decipher analytical data to the organizations.
