12 Technology Predictions and Trends for 2015

The New Year is almost here and it’s coming really fast.  With the New Year comes the fun of looking back, setting new goals and then planning ahead. When planning ahead it’s fun to predict what we can see happening in the near future, with technology especially. After looking back at the incredible year that we had in 2014 I decided to give my predictions and opinions on what I can see happening in 2015.

1. Connecting Devices to Phones

In 2014, several companies created apps that are able to link commonly used objects to mobile devices, and some of these include forks, kettles and televisions. Several experts have indicated that businesses will also design a new programming language that allows smartphones to connect with one another more easily, and the phones may be used to control other devices, such as heaters, a car’s locks and fans.

2. Transferring Information

Numerous companies are developing software that allows customers to release data by placing a mobile device close to a payment terminal. Consequently, users can rapidly give a virtual business card to a client or provide payment information.

3. Advanced Watches

Developed by Apple Inc., these gadgets will give users the ability to access the Internet, to send emails and to utilize a GPS. A recent report indicated that a new version of the watch will be available by August 2015.

4. Nanotechnology and Extreme Conditions

Nanotubes consist of carbon and are able to protect wires from the effects of cold weather and extremely hot temperatures. Certain business are planning to place these coverings around cables that are on satellites and in machines that operate in terrestrial locations that have an especially cold climate.

5. Medical Devices

During 2015, several organizations will test nanotechnology that can release medications. These small devices will also be able to detect changes in blood sugar, an increased level of antibodies and slightly elevated blood pressure. The companies will not just be medical related companies, you’ll see health companies like Nu Skin, or Johnson & Johnson  create technologies that will help compliment their products.

6. Hovercrafts

Before 2016, Arx Pax will release a hoverboard that utilizes as many as five small engines to fly above the ground. According to a report, the price of each machine will be approximately $10,000, and the hovercrafts can only function if they are positioned above a surface that consists of metal.

7. The Use of Drones

Many experts have speculated that organizations of all types will begin to utilize drones for numerous activities, such as finding endangered species, monitoring air quality in remote locations and videotaping certain events from a high vantage point. Moreover, numerous analyses have shown that the market value of drones is likely to drop substantially during 2015.

8. An Advanced GPS

A report by Juniper Research shows that a new navigation system will be able to determine which floor of a building the user is on and the elevation of the device. Furthermore, the GPS can warn a person of upcoming hills and dips in roads.

9. Preventing Machines From Overheating

In 2012, Google created a data center in Finland. During the next year, the company will install massive pumps that are able to transport exceptionally cold water from the Gulf of Finland to the building, and this chilly liquid will be used to cool the servers.

10. Storing More Data

HP recently announced that the company will release a revolutionary operating system that only uses one type of storage device, which is larger than the storage system of other computers. Currently, desktops have to send data from hardware that stores random-access memory to the hard drive, and according to HP, this process decreases the amount of information that a computer can hold.

11. HTML5

In 2015, a new version of HTML5 will be released, and this programming language will provide APIs that allow web designers to rapidly drag and drop photographs, to connect computers to smartphones that are in any location and to create extensive directories.

12. Energy-Efficient Technology

Founded in 1969, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. recently indicated that the business is going to develop new tablets, smartphones and processors that will use 25 percent of the energy that gadgets require in 2014. The enterprise is also designing new APUs that allow customers to more easily monitor a laptop’s usage of energy.

In Conclusion

2015 is going to be an incredible year for technology. More and more companies that aren’t technology companies are seeing the importance of developing  technology for their brands.  Technology will face obstacles as you’ll see less start-up technology companies since things are becoming far more advanced. There will also be a huge demand for more cyber security as more and more hackers will be swimming for  information.  Overall it will be a great year for technology.
