5 Great Books To Make You A Better Blogger

Look around the Internet and you’ll see that blogs are everywhere. Kids have blogs, adults have blogs, pets have blogs, companies, charities, causes, small businesses; here a blog, there a blog. The net has gone blog-happy.

So you figure that you want to jump into the pool as well, but you’re smart and know that there’s already a ton of people out there doing exactly the same thing. If only there was some way to become better at it, something to help make your particular blog stand out. Perhaps … a book? Or maybe a group of books?

One of the more….interesting blogging approaches

Say no more! Here’s a group of five books that can help you improve your blogging prowess. Read on, and be informed!

Freedom Is Blogging in Your Underwear

Now THAT is a title that grabs your attention! This book details how the author found freedom and fulfillment by blogging, and now hopes to bring those same joys to others as well. This is a good example of how an inspirational account can spur the reader to take the same leap.

Blogging All-In-One For Dummies

Forget about “Yeah, there’s an app for that”; try “Yeah, there’s a Dummies book for that”. Blogging apparently is no exception, as this volume so clearly shows. This is the second edition, released in 2012, so it’s fairly current on today’s trends, despite the fact that changes seem to come every other day. The information found here transcends those changes, and provides some solid fundamentals. You’ll be shown where to start, what sort of blogging tools you should use, niche blogging, and even how to make money off it. And speaking of profit …

How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul

Why shouldn’t you make a few bucks off your blog? This volume takes you through image creation, writing engaging content, capturing traffic growth, and improving your productivity. This is an ideal book for both the novice and the veteran.

31 Days To Build a Better Blog

Here’s something a little different. This is a downloadable book that helps you become a better blogger by giving you 31 tasks, one a day, in order to get into good blogging habits. After all, the best way to retain things that you’re taught is to implement them as soon as you can. It should be noted that this work is for people who already have a blog, not for those who haven’t started one yet. If you want to fit the exercises neatly in one month, avoid September, April, June, and November. February is RIGHT OUT.

Are You There Blog? It’s Me, Writer

Let’s conclude with a book that has a bit of humor to it. Told in an entertaining fashion, this book helps you navigate through the churning roiling waters of Facebook, Twitter, and of course blogging (although a case can be made that the three are interconnected). The author, Kristen Lamb, is a social media expert who shows you how to manage your time, take full advantage of social media tools, and be more productive, all the while entertaining you in the process. It’s available both in paperback and as an e-book.

That should be enough to set the dedicated blogger on the road to self-improvement. Of course, there’s a ton of other books and online articles out there as well, including pointing out common blogging mistakes that waste audience’s time, but you can’t go wrong with this collection.
