Must-Have ‘Reminder’ Apps

Besides relying a lot on our phones and tablets, there are several apps, which can make your life easier and more organised – and let’s be serious, Apple’s built-in Reminders app does need a hell of a lot more work. Hence, here is a list of the most reliable and efficient reminder apps (more useful then Apple’s), from building effective to-do lists to being reminded for next Mother’s Day in time!

Evernote

Free (Requires iOS 7.0 or later)

Time’s up for all those annoying little paper notes and ripped out magazine paperslips! Evernote allows you to quickly make a note of something and storing it for later purposes. You can access your notes anywhere from your computer or tablet and even share it with your friends. Besides the standard note-taking tool, you can attach photos, audio recordings, tags, and locations to notes, which can make your life much easier. However, if you want to enjoy all the great add-on features of Evernote, such as using it offline or getting an increase in space, you will be required to pay a considerate amount, in order to be an unlimited Evernote user.

Floraqueen

Free (Requires iOS 7 or later)

Don’t tell me you forget Mother’s Day again this year? Well to ensure it won’t happen again FloraQueen has come up with this ingenious app that allows you to input dates and sends you a reminder in time. With the click of a button you can send flowers to a person in a different country to celebrate their day with them. So never ever forget your best friend’s birthday or any big dates coming up soon with this straightforward app.

Orchestra To Do

Free (Requires iOS 6 or later)

Orchestra connects you with everyone you work with and helps you to get shit done, when working together with others. This to-do app focuses on the collaboration and working together effectively. It supports recurring tasks, real time syncing and voice capture, making your group tasks more controllable, in terms of staying in contact and having a reliable platform to keep track on everyone’s work. Oh yeah, how could I forget – the coolest feature on Orchestra allows you to real time chat with collaborators from inside the task! Oh, and Orchestra was named the App Store productivity app in 2011.

Any.Do

Free (Requires iOS 6.0 or later)

Any. Do is quite a favourite in the to-do list apps. Extremely easy to use and it supports using your voice, in order to submit reminders or any tasks. AS a given, you can sync your tasks easily across multiple devices and even integrate into your Google Chrome browser, making it easy to complete your tasks with one click. Moreover, you can share your to-do’s with other collaboraters and –wait for it – Any.Do realises your voice, allowing you to speak to your phone and tell it what you want to do – no more need to type in tasks!

Wunderlist

Free (Requires iOS 5.0 or later)

Wunderlist is actually a proper platform rather than simply an app. It offers a free cloud sync and has a robust website and great reviews on iTunes. It features a list of email reminders, drag and drop function on lists, prioritisation, and instant notifications. As any other reminder app it allows you to share lists with your colleagues, friends and family, in order to collaborate on anything from team projects to group dinners.  However its intuitive and friendly design makes it a great reminder app, which would probably use his full potential on your iPad rather than an iPhone screen.
