Recently the businesses around the world have shifted their focus on communication systems used at offices. Cloud telephony is one of the technologies that business owners and CFOs are trying to get a hang of since a lot is being said and written about it. Cloud telephony is all about using the goodness of VoIP technology and the efficiency of cloud computing packaged into a single system. Cloud telephony offers a lot of advantages to the businesses in terms of facilitating business operations and communications. Three obvious elements that help cloud telephony connect your business are as follows:

Scalability

Growth is an important factor associated with businesses and communication systems need to keep pace with the rising demands of corporate communication. It is imperative that the communication systems are scalable so that it can easily accommodate higher call volume without breaking down. Scalability is the biggest advantage offered by the cloud telephone systems as business owners can add more lines to the existing system and even opt for higher bandwidth to adjust the rise in call volume. As the business grows, the owner can opt for a higher plan and the rest will be taken care of by the cloud telephony providing company. In a similar manner, if the business owner wants to downsize, he/she can easily do it by opting for a lower cloud telephony plan. Companies can easily scale their communication systems without having to invest a fortune and in the process keep their expenses within a fixed communication budget.

Simplicity

As a cloud telephony user, you will never have to bother about servers, physical equipment or software; all these will be installed, operated and maintained by the cloud telephony service providing company. Users will only have to subscribe to the cloud telephony plan of their choice and they can carry on with their regular job instead of worrying about servers and telephone lines. On the other hand if you are using the old telephone system then you will have to take care of the installation, operation and maintenance by deploying full time resources for the same. This will auger into higher expenses for your company as the process of installation as well as maintenance of the telephone system is an expensive proposition. Upgrades are even simpler because all the upgrades are carried out by the service provider without disturbing the workflow of the users.

Flexibility

Cloud telephony is all about letting the user work the way they want to i.e. users can communicate with one another in any possible manner supported by the cloud-based system. You will be able to access your central communication system from any location around the world and irrespective of the device you are using – the only prerequisite is that the device has internet connectivity. Thus, cloud telephony promotes work from home and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), which allows the employees to work from any place of their convenience. Productivity of employees too is greatly enhanced as they are able to use the mobility factor offered by cloud telephony systems to solve customer issues without any delays. It is also possible for the employees to take quick decisions and offer the best customer service leading to satisfied customers.

The entire above factors auger in to an efficient and effective communication system that provides maximum ROI to the business owners.

I agree with you that growth is inevitable in business, therefore a cloud system telephone is needed for stability. I guess you’re right; with cloud telephone, companies will be able to access central communication from any location.
