AEgis Technologies Puts M&S on the Map

aegisAEgis Technologies is a private firm that specializes in modeling and simulation. Providing advanced technology and superb consulting services for various industries across, it also maintains a focus in micro and nano-scale technology development.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, some of its primary products and services consist of its simulation software and training simulators, geospatial databases, 3D models, war fighter exercise support, system engineering and analysis, verification, validation and accreditation, test and evaluation support, Hardware-in-the-Loop and Man-in-the-Loop simulation.

The division of Nanogensis makes tremendous advancements in innovative micro and nano-scale technologies from concept to deployment and an array of applications that are marketed for defense, energy and biotechnology.

With superb growth since its inception, the company posted revenues of $60 million in sales and has continued to show persistent growth.

With a subsidiary located in the United Kingdom and an overall workforce of approximately 300 experienced and dedicated professionals, it is able to offer products and services effectively over a large segment of simulation domain applications.

AEgis has been significant in the industry as it has accepted M&S as a profession and as a graduate program of study in various colleges and universities. Furthermore, it has been instrumental in establishing M&S standards and professional certification.

For years, since the company opened its doors in 1989, the company has been committed to working with honesty and integrity.  For this reason, it has been noticed for its honorable business practices, which is why it was given the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Ethics Award.

It was also the recipient of two awards at the 2012 Small Business Awards Celebration. AEgis won the 2012 Small Business of the Year award and Steve Hill, president and CEO, was awarded the 2012 Russell G. Brown Executive Leadership Award. In 2007, it made the Inc. 500 | 5000 list of fastest-growing American private firms.

AEgis Technologies has been involved in three Olympic projects: Beijing 2008 Olympic games, Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and London 2012. These projects include a 3D high-resolution database with cultural features.

Since it has grown, AEgis has shared its success by serving both its clients and the community. It has performed this by making generous contributions to the different areas it operates out of. It donates more than $100,000 and countless volunteer hours to several philanthropic organizations, such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, National Diabetes Foundation, Veterans War Memorial Association, Children’s Advocacy Center and local schools.
