Is CD and DVD Duplication A New Trend?

Using CDs and DVDs in sharing and distributing information and content is particularly evident in the music, film and software industries. They, and other industries, make use of CDs DVDs in huge volumes. This digital age today within our midst makes most company go paperless.

We know that quality should come with the increased demand for information that comes in digital format. It means that companies that use this digital technology should maintain and control even though they produce numerous copies through the duplication and replication method. Quality is best recognized through clear and readable text content stored. This goes with the audio and video contents as well.

Aside from its common use on storing data such as music and software applications, CDs and DVDs are also being used in advertisements, company presentations, media kits, e-learning solutions, games and reports. For example, companies can produce a short film, magazine or advertisement to launch a new product or service, make tutorials and reports and then easily print it on a CD or DVD for distribution to media outlets.

The possibility of making flawless copies of content from the original copy is possible through the use of the latest technology. As a result, some corporations have invested in duplicating machines to minimize their expenses.

Duplication

CD or DVD burning is the duplication process that involves copying the entire content of a master to a disk. Burning is ideal for copying contents onto 1,000 disks at maximum.

Any DVD such as DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, mini DVD and mini DVD-RW can be used in the duplication process. However, DVDR-R is the best to use because it has the most applicable format that can be read by any player worldwide including the Blu-ray machines.

The duplicator machine is the standard equipment in DVD burning or copying. Copies can be simultaneously produced by a standalone single or multiple drive tower duplicator. It is your choice whether to use the manual type or automated unit in copying. Commonly, a computer comes together with an automated duplicator to control the printing process.

Replication

Making brand new DVDs or CDs through the use of an injection molding machine and at the same time transferring data from the master to the copies spells the difference between the replication and duplication process.

Replication process involves pressing of discs in production lines. It releases a new disc ever few seconds which is perfect for printing large volumes of more than 1,000 CDs or DVDS.

The latest format used in the replication process is Blu-ray for it allows greater and high quality storage of data and content compared to CD and DVD. Blu-ray technology was developed by Blu Ray Disc Association in connection with several major electronic and computer firms.

Most companies use replication services to outsource the work of printing and mastering more than a thousand copies in order to meet their requirements on time. In replication houses or companies, they use automated insertion machines for this process. This high-costing replication method needs different machines to create the required number of discs and to insert each one of them in their packages.

Digital format experts in the field believe that CD and DVD copying are here to stay because, as of the moment, there is no concrete evidence that it will gradually disappear in the future.
