Best Techniques For Bloggers To Get Higher Page Rank

No matter what others say, page rank is an important factor for your blog’s success. Page rank is a determination of a domain’s relevance in the eyes of Google, world’s most followed search engine. According to their algorithm, when a web page has higher page rank, it is considered to be valuable and therefore, has a higher possibility of being shown in search engine rankings. In this article, I will give you some of the best techniques for bloggers to get higher page rank.

blog seo techniques

But, before we reveal the techniques, let’s see how this page rank is calculated. Google is not much forthcoming to reveal their secrets, except for the understanding that higher the number of “quality” back links to any domain, the possibility of that page getting a better page rank increases. Here, links act as a “vote” of approval. Almost all of the techniques are around this concept only.

Let’s see some of the techniques.

1. Guest Blogging

In the last 2 years, guest blogging has emerged as a preferred way to generate quality back links. Round up a list of blogs with a page rank higher than yours. Approach them with guest blogging offer. Write awesome content for them and you can create a quality back link via the author bio. If the webmaster wants to make the author bio link no-follow, don’t discard it because search engines want to see a mixture of do-follow and no-follow links.

2. External Backlinks via Classifieds

IF your blog offers any kind of products or services on sale, it is best to create ads and submit them to free online classified ad sites like Craigslist, OLX and WOHHO. When you create ads, you will automatically link it back to the homepage or any inner page. Now if you create multiple ads and link it with different inner pages, you get to create a lot of back links. Try this technique with not one but multiple online classified sites.

3. External Backlinks via Web 2.0 Properties

Article directories, forums, content sites like Squidoo and Hub Pages are typical examples of web 2.0 properties. Squidoo and Hub Pages are two awesome sources to create stellar content and host them on these sites. To top this all, you can even monetize content on these two sites via Amazon affiliate programs. Therefore, you not only build back link but get to earn as well. Further, spend some time in creating articles for article directories and be active on niche-based forums. Yahoo! Answers is another source to create web 2.0 based links.

4. Internal Link Building

After external links, you also need to focus on internal links. Keep this in mind, whenever you write a new blog post, make sure to interlink a minimum of 2 inner pages; more the better. Interlinking pages from your own blog tells the search engine bots that you value the content. Alternatively, it presents readers with more resources to read and implement.

5. Adding rel=”nofollow” Tag

I am sure you do accept guest posts on your blog. Most of the time, the outgoing link is a do-follow, right? Again, a lot of advertisements are do-follow. All your sidebar links are do-follow. A high number of do-follow outgoing links are not good. Why? A do-follow link means you are passing on your page rank to the outgoing link and secondly, a lot of do-follow outgoing links are not good in the eyes of search engine. This is the reason why Google recommends having a mixture of links. For instance, guest blogging links could remain do-follow but make the sidebar links no-follow, completely. If advertisers want to place in-text links, tell them it will be no-follow if you want. Your focus should be on getting “quality inbound links” if you want to get a good page rank.

Conclusion

It is not easy to get a good page rank because Google is becoming too stringent. Just make sure you follow white-hat linking techniques, write stellar content and not engage in spamming others. After you have done all these, just sit back and see the response in the upcoming page rank update.

I haven’t considered classifieds for link building until your article here. Do classified sites remove links if they are going to affiliate sites, where you are selling brand name products and not your own products?

These tips will surely help you to improve traffic to your website.See, as an SEO we focus more on do follow links but sometimes no follow links of good quality can improve traffic or page rank of your website.

So Quality backlinks should be the mixture of both do follow and no follow links. As many do follow links are not considered good by the search engines

    Thnaks Rohit 🙂

Great advice for not only beginners but intermediate and advanced bloggers. It is interesting that some advice seems to somewhat contradict such as #2, #3. I like #15, keep it short though search engines (i.e. Google) like more like 600-800 words from what I understand but would value others’ input on that. #15 is a skill for being able to get to the point and a challenge for some. It reminds me of a quote often attributed to Mark Twain “If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter.” Thanks for sharing.
