10 Free Android and iOS Apps You Should Know About

When it comes to mobile devices such as tablet computers and smartphones, the installed apps or applications help to shape the user experience for better or for worse. Whether considering Apple’s iOS platform or the Android platform, there are lots of must-have apps that are worthy of installation on compatible devices. A handful of some pretty nifty apps for the iOS and Android devices follows.

iOS

  1. Google Earth allows users to explore the world from the comfort of their own homes. Whether interested in seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, the Great Wall of China in the world’s most populous nation or the larger-than-life Christ the Redeemer statute in Brazil, Google Earth for the will take users there in a jiffy. A few swipes of the finger will allow users to become globetrotters without their having to board a plane. Users can also use it to search out vacation destinations, businesses and roads. A cool feature is the “tour guide” option that allows users to find new places to explore in rich detail. Google Earth is also available for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
  2. With Find My iPhone, users can potentially locate any missing or lost iOS device whether iPad, iPhone or iPod touch by utilizing another iOS device. Those with iOS 6 can take advantage of the Lost Mode feature which allows users to shutdown access to misplaced or missing devices while they are trying to ascertain their whereabouts. Leveraging the app, users can locate their iOS devices on a map, remotely lock their devices, get driving directions to the devices’ locations and more.
  3. Evernote is the perfect app for keeping track of, well, just about anything and everything. Whether taking notes at a board meeting, organizing a to-do list or brainstorming for a presentation, Evernote can help users to organize things in a major way. Even better, they’ll be able to synch data among their iPad, iPhone, iPad touch and PCs automatically. Other key features include recording voice and audio notes, searching for text inside images, and organizing notes by notebooks and tags.
  4. Pulse News is the sort of app that news junkies will love. Rather than having to go to dozens of websites to get their news fix, users can get the news they want from one frequently updated page. Users can sort news by genre or topic and can load each section with whichever sites they want.
  5. With the official Facebook app, users can keep on top of what their friends are up to and let their pals know what they themselves are up to. So Facebook fans can provide status updates, send birthday greetings and comment on pictures from the comfort of their sofas, while traveling on the bus or while waiting for a doctor’s appointment.

ANDROID

  1. Seesmic is the perfect app for Android fans who like to send and receive tweets. While there are lots of different Twitter apps made for the Android platform, Seesmic is one of the more popular with its capacity to support numerous accounts and home page widget. So this is the sort of app that fans of the famous microblogging site should definitely consider.
  2. Google Sky Map is the ultimately free Android app for those who are even remotely interested in astronomy. This app taps into the orientation tools in users’ smartphones to generate true-to-life representations of planets and stars on their screens. If they lift their smartphones to the sky, the phones will inform them about what constellations are noticeable in the sky. Users who’d rather not absorb any of the cold air outdoors can use the app indoors as well.
  3. Google Maps Navigation is the sort of app that Android users should consider if they ever need help getting to where they need to go. As long as users have Android 1.6 or above installed, they can take advantage of turn-by-turn voice navigation. Route calculations are performed at the start of the trip, which lessens data transfer while traveling and keeps them on track even if the GPS loses the signal.
  4. Kingsoft Office is a great app for users who like to edit Microsoft Office documents on the go. Whether using Word, Powerpoint or Excel, people can create, view and edit documents when they can’t get to their personal computers. The app supports file formats like doc, doxc, txt, ppt, xls, xlsx and pptx.
  5. History Eraser Pro helps users to unclutter their phones. Following the prompts, users can make the app get rid of data, cached files, text messages and more from their phones.

I am a great fan of Android and luckily I already have all these Apps except the History Eraser. I will now download it because a lot of browsing sure does make the phone slow and creates a clutter. I really want to improve the performance of my HTC wildfire and this will be a great App to help me do it.

Ios and android both are the top two OS in this time and both are having different qualities as per their uses but comparing both is not a good idea as both works in different environment. As IOS is made for a high class while android is made for a purpose that every person should have a smart phone.
these above described apps are good in every manner so good points to author for that.
