The Future Of Cloud Computing

cloudcomputing

The concept of cloud computing is nothing new. We have been using the cloud to store our data even since the earlier years of the Internet revolution. However it seemed that it was only the few recent years that cloud computing began to be known as a tool to replace typical systems and storage devices. IT experts project that more and more people and enterprises will utilize this technology in the years to come. Here we will discuss the future of cloud computing.

The Future of Cloud Computing

1. Media on the Cloud

Media analysts and experts alike have identified that the cloud will be used as a domain to host files not only information of companies in text format but also in several media files such as music, videos and rich formats. The scope of this infrastructure will be getting wider and soon enough, everybody will access the cloud for their data. Physical storage properties will be gone soon after and users of the cloud will be as mobile as ever. Internet will become super pervasive and ubiquitous and no one in this generation can live without it.

2. Online Collaboration

Every physical being would have his or her own representation online and everyone can have smooth collaboration through the social cloud. Companies can use internal applications online to communicate rather than use telephones and wired applications. Not only are Facebook, Twitter and the like be for personal communications but also for members in the workforce to foster relationships inside an organization. Businesses will start to realize the significance of these tools to improve customer intimacy and loyalty as well, and they will welcome the idea of using the cloud to enrich supply and demand chain relationships.

3. Mobile Cloud

Black and white phones without Internet access will be out in the market. Smartphones of different sizes and brands with internet connection will rule in the market. Prices will go down for everyone’s reach, and soon everyone will be getting in touch with everybody else online. Hence the rise of mobile sites and mobile data is seen to materialize in the future. People can easily connect to the cloud with the use of the mobile devices and transact business processes with data always on the cloud for download and utilization.

4. E-commerce

Mobile payments will become more rampant in the future. This is the real cashless society reigning in the world. Instead of using credit cards and debit cards, people will use their smart phones to pay groceries and stuff from malls and stores. The formation of e-commerce is an innovation made possible by cloud formations. Social media can influence people’s purchases at the same time, as consumers can get access to reviews of products before deciding to make a purchase. Counters will have to be connected to the cloud to validate identities and certify payments made in the cloud.

5. Security

As security is by far the biggest hurdle when it comes to deciding whether or not to move data into the cloud, the future will have no problems regarding privacy and security. Encryption, firewalls, and other protocols are expected to grow in the future and data stored in the cloud will not be a thing of worry.

Conclusion

To date, there is an increasing trend of cloud computing users and the world is becoming cloud-centric in designing their infrastructure to supplement their internal systems and applications and optimize business process performance. Organizations are incorporation their cloud computing migration elements more and more. Question is, are you ready for cloud computing as it expands further covering wider markets and industries?

Wow so many lemmings cheering for the cloud.
Same people who were happy to see MegaUpload shut down (wtf?)

Yet people ignore the cloud in droves and memory cards keep on getting bigger and smaller…. Go figure .
People don’t trust it and they are correct not to.

I agree with several points here, especially number three and five. Mobile cloud access will be huge as the market and demand for mobile continue to increase. Security is definitely an issue we will need to keep an eye one as well. Fortunately there are several good solutions available for cloud security already and they will only continue to get better.

    Nice article, thanks for sharing.
