5 Must-Have Apps For Your iPad

If you’ve recently purchased an iPad, here is a list of apps that you should have no matter what kind of user you are:

Note-taking App

The iPad already has a native notes app that usually does the bare minimum and syncs with iCloud. But for most users that don’t have a Mac to go with the iPad, syncing to iCloud doesn’t help much unless you’re resetting the device. Some apps like Evernote and Awesome Note let you include all sorts of media into your notes. You can add sound, video and pictures to your note so the whole thing doesn’t actually have to be typed up. Sometimes, the app lets you send the note to your email or email it to someone. Evernote prides itself in syncing with all your other devices through their applications for PC, MAc and mobile. If you aren’t a big Apple fan, then Micrososft OneNote is a great way to keep using Windows.

Camera App

Again, the iPad has a native camera app but you’re surely missing out on other camera apps that let you do much more. Some apps like InstaCollage and iCamera let you use beautiful and quirky filters for your photos. You can also make a collage of your pictures with clever backgrounds. You don’t need to export your photos to a computer to start editing them since most camera apps can do some minor editing for you. If you like sharing photos with everyone, you can get apps like Instagram that let you automatically share the pictures you took with the app on your social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter.

VoIP Phone

You may think that your iPad cannot have any phone capabilities but you are mistaken. Aside from the video calling between iOS devices through FaceTime, you can get apps like RingCentral to activate an internet phone system. The app comes free with your phone subscription.

Messaging App

You may think that getting an app for each social media site you use is great, but just wait until you have to talk to seeral people all at the same time on different apps. The iPad still doesn’t support multiple apps open on the same screen so you have to switch. But apps like meebo and imo.im let you chat with all your contacts over all your social media accounts from one app. As long as your login information is updated and you’ve taken the time to input everything from Facebook to Steam, then you can talk to all your contacts. You can even set your status message as if you were actually using the social media app.

Battery Management App

There are apps available like Battery Doctor and Battery Plus that monitor and control your charging so you have good battery charging habits and practices. Taking care of a Lithium-Ion battery can be tricky but if you take the time to follow the battery care suggestions then your iPad definitely benefits.

I also recommend Evernote. If you are using any of their mobile devices, I’d also encourage you to setup the web clipper in mobile Safari.

Then when you are browsing the web, you can quickly get information “clipped” into Evernote.
