5 Cell Phone Technology Predictions

The technological age ensures that devices which are the ‘next best thing’ soon become obsolete (often within 12 months) and the cell phone industry is as perilous as they come. Corporate giants such as Samsung, Apple, Google, Microsoft and Nokia are competing against one another to produce the best cell phone technology in the world. Each year, we are treated to faster, smaller, lighter and tougher cell phones laden with brand new features designed to add extra convenience to our lives.

At the end of 2012, most experts hailed the Samsung Galaxy S3 as the best cell phone on the planet but how long will it keep its crown? Based on previous years, probably no more than 6 months! We know that 2013 is going to be exciting so here is a rundown of the best cell phone technology coming soon.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung are acutely aware that their S3 will not be top of the tree for long and reports suggest that their S4 will be even better. The Galaxy S3 has Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich software and a Samsung interface full of incredible features. It is powerful but a bit flimsy so Samsung are about to release its S4 which will probably have an updated quad-core processor (rumors say an eight-core brain) and a bigger screen. In a nutshell, it will be bigger and more powerful!

Better Resolution & Bigger Screens

Up until this point, only a handful of cell phones had 1080p resolution but virtually every model released by the end of 2013 will boast this capacity and almost every new release will have a 5 inch screen so users can really appreciate the stunning picture.

More Storage

How would you like to own a cell phone with 64GB capacity? Samsung have reportedly created even smaller chips possessing the magical 64GB capacity and are even creating some versions of their S3 with these chips. Apple has already released 64GB capacity iPhones but the big news in 2013 is that these monster phones will be affordable to the general public.

iPhone Update

It is almost certain that Apple will release a new iPhone model though reports suggest that it may be an upgrade on the excellent iPhone 5 which will likely be called iPhone 5S. It will be interesting to see how Apple improve on a cell phone that was deemed to be near perfection from the perspective of iPhone users though perhaps Apple will add some extra innovative features to thrill users.

Battery Power

A problem with many cell phones is their battery life. Having to charge the phone almost every day is frustrating and companies are acting on this gripe by releasing larger batteries. The Galaxy S3 is one of the better phones on the market in this respect with its 2,100mAh unit. Users won’t mind if their gadgets weigh an extra 30 grams if they get a cell phone with a battery that doesn’t need to be charged after half a day’s use.

By the start of 2014, we will be talking about a whole new range of cell phone technology. Smartphones that are too expensive now will become easily affordable and if you are a patient soul that doesn’t need the latest gadgets right this minute, you could save a small fortune and purchase an amazing piece of equipment.

I agree, they can only get better. Pretty soon desktops will be a thing of the past.

I dont think desktops will be a thing of the past. Working on a desktop does not compare to even the best laptop out there. I find that I am far more comfortable using a desktop rather than a laptop because of the extra space. Also desktops are cheaper than laptops.
