Best Free Image Viewer Apps For Android

Android is a renowned mobile operating system for smartphones and it not only improves the smartness of smartphones, it also enhances the multimedia capabilities of smartphones, and this is achieved through the numerous applications available in Google’s Play store. From image viewers to video players and audio players, you will find practically any app you need. I will be talking only about the best free image viewers today.

Here are few, top of the line, image viewer apps for android :

QuickPic

ALT

This app is not large, just under 400 kb in size, but packs a ton of features. The developers assert in their description of the app that it is the best image viewer app available for android, and they couldn’t be more correct. Pictures are ordered in a grid layout with options to mark all images, rotate, move, and copy. You can run a slideshow of your images, specify which folders you want images to be retrieved from, organize your images with the in-built file manager, conceal your photos behind a password, etc. Images are crisp and you can slide to switch images, tap to zoom, pinch to zoom, shrink, rotate, and crop images while viewing them. Animations are supported, but synchronizing with online albums is not supported. Lastly, there are no annoying ads.

Fast Image Viewer

This app supports a lot of image formats, and viewing images is as pleasant as it gets on a smartphone or tablet. There are many image viewing options, e.g. customizable slideshow, rotating images, cropping, resizing, and porting images to maps. It has a free and paid version; the former displays ads while the latter doesn’t. You can also export images as PDF files and share them with your friends directly from the application. If you have been looking for a respectable image viewer for scanned image files, look no further because this image viewer is capable of doing just that. It can also displayGIF animations and comes equipped with a decent file manager. This is an outstandingly feature-rich image viewer.

Photo Gallery

ALT

This is one of the most elegant photo viewers for android devices and it has an interesting feature unseen in most other image viewers – and that feature is side-by-side image comparison. It has a file browser too, a feature that is often present in image viewers. You can view select images in a random order and view all images in a grid layout as well. The grid layout consists of one column of sizable grids on the left and several columns of smaller grids on the right, along with a single row of sizable grids at the bottom of the image gallery. Images can be re-sized  cropped, shared, rotated, moved, protect by password, guarded against deletion, organized into albums, etc. Another notable feature is the facility for adding notes to albums and photos. Slideshows and viewing images stored in a memory card is supported too.

PicsArt Viewer

ALT

Another good image viewer, and this one allows viewing images stored in online photo storage sites like Picasa, PicsArt, Dropbox, Flickr, Facebook, and even Google, and images retrieved from the aforementioned websites can be streamed as slideshows as well. A file manager is present and the gallery is nicely arranged for your viewing pleasure. You can multi-select images, copy them, move them, view them in slides, and delete them. The most note-worthy feature of this app is the extension of your retrieval options while uploading images. For example, if you want to upload your twitter profile picture, you will see an option to grab the image from one of the image storage sites mentioned above, not just from your file manager. Also, there are no ads, and images are displayed clearly.

Pixable

ALT

This is like an email address for your pictures. It is virtually an inbox that houses all your photos from several online albums and photo storage sites, specifically Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. It’s purpose is clearly defined – it’s not a traditional image viewer so images from your local storage will not be displayed. You can view photos shared by your friends, share them via Facebook or Twitter, or save them to your phone. Images are sorted by popularity and can be viewed categorically through feeds like top, most recent, etc. Automatic synchronization is one of the features of this app – as you comment or like a Facebook picture, it is reflected on your Facebook account. Additionally, you can browse photos from your friends’s tweets (and videos), like and comment on Instagram photos, and manage your favorite photos from each service.

So there you have it, the best free image viewer apps for android. Which one’s your favorite? Tell me in the comments.

Great Image viewer app list! I truly enjoyed using PicsArt Viewer for my android based Smartphone as the features provided by it is amazing. One more app which I would like to suggest is JustPictures – it is one of the best app I have ever used to view local images and images from Picasa, Flickr, Facebook, Tumblr and Deviant Art.
