Cyberoam Web Filtering: An Investment In security And Productivity

Cyberoam web filtering is a next generation unified security solution that can granularly analyze and control web traffic, to block access to harmful websites, preventing malware, phishing and pharming attacks, besides undesirable content that could lead to legal liabilities and direct financial losses. Cyberoam in conjunction with other security features protect networks from malware and data loss and leakage, before the threat has any chance of infiltrating the system.

Cyberoam offers one of the most comprehensive URL databases with millions of URLs grouped into 82+ categories. Available with the Cyberoam UTM and Cyberoam Wi-Fi Appliances range, it blocks access to harmful websites, preventing malware, phishing, pharming attacks and undesirable content that could lead to legal liability and direct financial losses. Cyberoam’s Layer 8 Identity-based policies offer granular web access controls, preventing data and productivity loss. Comprehensive web filtering coupled with granular Layer 8 controls make Cyberoam Web Filtering the right choice for large enterprises and small organizations.

Cyberoam provides Comprehensive Web and content filtering

Cyberoam through its exhaustive web categorization and filtering option provides comprehensive filtering and thus productivity and security solution to a business. The web categorization engine automatically updates the database. The filtering options are based on a broad range of parameters such as URL, keyword, file type and database. Cyberoam’s web filtering, in combination with Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware and IPS, offer comprehensive web and internet content filtering. It blocks third-party proxy and tunnelling software, google cache pages, embedded URLs in websites and much more to minimize accidental and intentional bypass by preventing harmful websites from appearing in search results.

Data leakage prevention & Compliance through Complete visibility into HTTPS traffic

As HTTPS hides the traffic from view, it has been popularly used by cyber criminals to mask malicious codes. Security systems that don’t give complete visibility into the HTTPS traffic are miles away from effective protection over HTTPS. If an employee visits an HTTPS site that has malware, the malware can enter the organization’s network without the network security solution identifying it. But Cyberoam web filtering’s visibility into HTTPS traffic prevents unauthorized file upload and download over HTTP and HTTPS, preventing malware attacks and unauthorized data transfer over encrypted medium, ensuring compliance.

Cyberoam web filtering with layer 8 identity based controls

Cyberoam Web Filtering’s Layer 8 Identity-based surfing policies based on user, group, work function, web category and duration or time of the day deliver high flexibility and web and content security. Coupled with Bandwidth Management which ensures bandwidth availability and data transfer limit based on duration and schedule of access for specific web categories, Cyberoam limits rather than blocks non-productive sites.

It also offers integration with a range of existing authentication mechanisms such as ADS, RADIUS, SSO, local and thin client. Indeed a right replacement for best-of-breed solutions with comprehensive, yet cost-effective security.

Seems promising in protecting the web from the activities that are patronized by the malware enthusiasts. Often, the unauthorized users use the HTTPS shadow of the real financial banking homepage with a fake page containing HTTPS suffix to easily trick the users in having the financial transactions done. A service like cyberoam web filtering could shield the users from falling prey to such people with mean intentions.

This is a nice review of the Cyberoam Web Filtering, containing lots of new info for me. I didn’t know that HTTPS protocol hides the content of the web pages accessed. Thanks for taking the time to teach us new things!

There is a constant war going in between those who try to exploit it
and steal from people, for those who protect them.Cyber Roam
offers a good solution to this issue.I will definitely give it a try.
Also I want my kids not to be able to browse into adult sites. I assume
from this post I can configure it to block those sites.

Don Smith my site no no reviews.
