It has been described as the worst crisis to hit Japan since the second World War and newly released pictures of last week’s terrible earthquake and tsunami shows why. As new video footages of the disaster emerge, Google has released incredible pictures and images of places before and after the devastating earthquake and tsunami occurred last Friday(11.03.2011). The amount of damage and impact caused can be seen in pictures of Arahama in Sendai, Yuriage in Natori, Fujitsuka in Sendai, Sendai Airport, Fukushima nuclear plant, Kashimaku in Minamisoma, Ishinomaki in Miyag and in many other places.

It’s definietly sad to see what’s happening in Japan right now.
I think these earthquakes and tsunamis show that we as people come together in the time of tragedy and we help each other pull through.
Thanks for sharing these images, these before and after pictures are eye opening.

The situation in Japan is really terrible. I just wonder how so many cataclisms can happed together to this country. I just hope that everything will be OK with the nuclear factory.

It’s indeed shocking and depressing to watch the news and see what’s been happening to Japan. The nuclear plant is still unstable and people here in Philippines are panicking about the spreading of radiation.

It is a terrible disaster the one now unfolding in Japan. The craze has gotten so far that even people in Europe fear the coming of the nuclear cloud. I think TV stations ought to be more moderate but to the point in their descriptions, otherwise they’ll do worse than good.

Wow those pictures are astonishing! Pure devastation. My heart aches for those victimized by this horrible disaster. I just hope everything gets better as fast as possible. Now I heard on the news this morning that Los Angeles started detecting VERY LOW amounts of radioactive material during the night. How is this going to effect us?

The earthquake was scary enough in Osaka. I can only imagine how strong it must have felt in Sendai, and that’s even before the greater terror from the tsunami.
I’m happy that the international media covered it so much but the sensationalist coverage of the problems at the nuclear plant weren’t helpful. People need to realise that there is natural radiation everywhere, even in bananas!
Also, taking iodine can be very bad for your health and should be avoided unless you are in very close proximity to a large amount of radioactive iodine. No one in the US should be taking it because of problems in Japan right now.

The earthquake incident in Japan is indeed the worst crisis now. The bad thing about this event is that until now, Japan is still experiencing after shocks because of what happened. Also now, they are facing the possible radiation problem.

Those pictures are unbelievable. I remember when I first heard about the Tsunami, they had almost all the footage up on Youtube immediately. I’ve truly never seen anything like it.

It is horrible what has happened there.
That we don’t hear anything about it in the news anymore doesn’t mean everything is alright.
The news is too sensationalistic.
It’s also amazing to see how strong the Japanese are, how they deal with this is really impressive.
