The new Apple iPhone sale began yesterday with thousands of shoppers queuing outside stores for hours, all over the world, long before they were opened. Described earlier this month by Steve Jobs as “the biggest leap since the original iPhone”, the latest Apple smartphone comes in a smaller and lighter package than previous versions. It also has stainless steel body that Apple says will act as a sort of antenna in order to make reception of mobile signals better. Other features include better display, larger battery that gives users about 40% more talk time, 6 hours browsing time and an improved built-in camera that produces better picture quality even when taken in low light.
FaceTime Video Calls
Perhaps, one of the most exciting attributes of the iPhone 4, is the use of FaceTime video technology. According to Apple, FaceTime video calling “sets a new standard for mobile communication” with a new Retina display which produces the highest resolution ever displayed in a phone – about 4x the resolution of the previous iPhone 3GS. With FaceTime, users can take part in video chats by making use of the two cameras (a 5 mega-pixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera) on the new iPhone and record or view HD videos.
Physical Structure
Some of the physical features of the new iPhone includes an oil-resistant glass screen that prevents the display from smearing and a stainless steel band that runs around its centre. Apart from making the device stronger, the steel band will also form part of its cellular and Wi-Fi antenna. Furthermore, the standard 4.0 operating system makes it possible for users to multi-task with third party apps and organise their numerous apps into different folders.
Although it is not yet known how successful iPhone 4 will eventually become, judging by the success of its predecessor – the iPhone 3GS – which was launched a year ago and sold over a million units in its first weekend, one can expect the device to be very popular. Already over 3 million iPads have been sold in less than three months and Apple says that over 600,000 pre-orders of iPhone 4 have already been made setting the pace for a possible surge in demand. There are already concerns in countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom over possible shortages.

My impressions are:
1. The Screen – i loveeeeeeeeee the display, it looks soooo much better then any device i’ve seen.
2. Facetime – Its actually a neat feature, i just hope that more and more devices can come up with something compatible because for now, its just i4 to i4
3. Battery Life – I noticed a significant improvement so i cant complain
4. Front Facing Camera – This will come in handy when i want to take pix with friends and family so i love this feature, its sooo easy to use too.
5. 5mp Camera and Flash – The camera takes a much better picture and as for the flash, i think it serves its purpose
6. Speed – The speed to ME, is a Great improvement, i can feel the difference…
Overall: I am loving this new iPhone 4 and i have no regrets about getting myself this wonderful device
I think iPhone 4 is going to be successful as well, with the new loaded feature.
Apple is going to record another great success with launch of iPhone 4, I hope it will better by far than the iPhone 3.

i’m not sure what apple did, but it must have been something right. there are some better options and i can’t believe the hype.
I don’t think they are going in right direction. HTC is closer apple than two years ago. If only apple weren’t so popular Htc would be no.1

Outside of the call dropping issue, I’ve had no complaints with the latest iphone.
Apple developers put tons of improvements into iPhone 4, but they still miss 2 very important things that could bring them thousands of new customers… The first thing is antenna losing signal and the second thing is high price for unlocked handset.
It’s kind of problematic to understand how and why thaey allowed to happen, but it’s sadly truth.
All the rest (new feautures and apps) are really great, and everyone iPhone 4 owner could be happy!

I have the Droid X and my friend brought his iPhone 4 over the other night. At one point, we were testing our flashlight apps outside and the iPhone flashlight is about as bright as the Droid X but has a much colder temp. if you know what I mean. Both phones use the camera’s flash led for the flashlight. If I were to compare the 2 lights, I would say that the Droid X light has a warm tone like the sun and the iPhone 4 had a more cooler tone kind-of like the moon.

Apple always introduces the best for their consumers. Apple 4 rocked the whole technology market but now a days it is ranked at number 6th in the list of best smart phones. I personally like HTC Cell phones.
Yes, HTC phones seem to be the main challengers to iPhones at the moment.
I think iPhone is endangered by a lot of other Smartphones which are more available for regular people and are much cheaper, of course they are not so fine but not everyone needs to have everything so good in cellphone.

The iphone 4 technology has brought Apple into the driver’s seat again. They’re way ahead of the competition as far as design and hardware technology is concerned. Their competitors are just in the process of matching the technology of their previous phone release, and now here they are coming up with a new phone already. True leader of innovation.
